Troubleshooting High CPU useage by ManagementLayer
« on: October 28, 2009, 01:42:07 PM »
Hi folks,

I have a test 3300 CX running MCD 10.0.1.12. It frequently reaches a state where I can't login to ESM. If I login to the RTC and issue the 'ps' command it shows that the ManagementLayer is hovering around 80% CPU useage.

1. Has anyone encountered this and figured out the problem?

2. Any suggestions for troubleshooting and pinpointing the cause?

Thanks!

Are you able to log in some time and not others? Are you always using the same PC? There where some problems with IE and you need to clear temp files & cookies.

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't matter which PC I connect from. Clearing the cache makes no difference.

Also, apps that use MiXML are not able to talk to the switch. Call control is fine though.

Thanks I already tried that but it didn't help any. Usually I have to reboot the switch or sometimes it sorts itself out but that usually takes a day or two.
