Strange audio set to set after upgrade
« on: November 18, 2013, 01:37:27 PM »
Over the weekend I upgraded a 3300 MX release 9 to an MXeIII MCD 6sp2 platform, reusing a quad DSP and dual T1 card, otherwise everything remains the same, all 5330 and 5340 sets except one Navigator phone, 2 old ASUs... now users are reporting IP set to set calls sound tinny and like talking through a hollow log, but external calls and calls to analog sets are fine.

Any ideas?

Turn off G722 codec.
That codec gets a lot of those complaints

Here's a page I put together on how to resolve.   G.722 codec Sounds Tinny

Yes that wideband codec caused me the same problem on my first upgrade after it's release. Routinely turn it off now.

Sure enough... Disabling G.722.1 fixed the issue, thanks guys!
