Cell phone number appears as private
« on: October 16, 2013, 02:47:38 PM »
Hello everyone,

I have a Blackberry cell phone that works just fine, but when he calls someone at the office (mitel phones) his name appears as PRIVATE.
We have checked in his phone's settings, they're good, I have checked with Rogers, everything good on their side too.
What's even weirder is that when he calls any phone or cell phones his name appears without a problem, but only when he calls a Mitel phone does he
appear as private...

I have checked with Voysis they could not help me, does anyone know where to look?

Thank you!

Check your system speed dial list. Is his cell phone there, labeled PRIVATE?

Are you sure the name is provided from the carrier? In the US many cell phone carriers do not supply the CID name to databases for caller ID dips, this may be normal behavior, you can check the PRI debug in the SSH console and see of you are getting the name from the carrier, or just have him call a home phone with  caller ID and see how it displays.

If his cell number is listed in the System Speed Dial directory and the description is 'private', it will display that name when he calls in.
If the call is on a PRI, you can check the 'Setup message to see if the carrier is sending 'Private' or his name. If on a loop start line, use a small Caller ID receiver box before the system to see what is being sent by the carrier.

Is the cell user calling in on a DID number?? If yes, check your Call Routing tables and make sure you don't have an entry labeled PRIVATE.
