802.1X
« on: September 23, 2013, 02:37:21 PM »
Hello,

I have setup 802.1x and currently, I have setup a username and pw that I have to enter into each phone. I am wondering is there away to push this username and pw out using the Mitel boxes themselves?

Thanks,

I did do some looking around on the forum and saw that this problem might not be able to be resolved. Was hoping someone found a solution to this issue.

Mitel 3300 v6  phones 5330, 5340's and 5330e's

Switches are HP Procurves.

Thanks,

Unfortunately it has to be done on each phone. There is no other way to provision the username and password

So I implemented 802.1x on some HP switches and something intresting happened to about 5 phones on one particular floor which has about 50 phones. They booted up without me having to enter the username and pw I created. I double checked the configurations on the switch and it does show those phones that booted up automatically as authenticated and authorized on the switch. Does anyone know how this would be possible?

Thanks,
