Watch calls on T1 (NOT PRI)
« on: August 05, 2013, 12:16:00 PM »
OK, I'm an idiot and cannot for life of me figure out how to watch the calls coming in and out one a traditional D4/AMI T1... What I am looking for is how to watch the digits coming in or dialed out, channel used, etc. similar to the EDT TRACE TSP L2L3 <PLID> except for on a D4T1. Can someone point me in the right direction?

The only thing I can think to use is SMDR records.
I know it's historical as opposed to real time but that's how I've accomplished it forever.

Hmmm... was hoping for something better than that. I have a customer that is having an issue every so often where when someone dials their main number that rings to a Ring Group, the caller is getting a fast busy, yet regular DIDs are working fine. I don't think the call is even hitting the T1 and it's blocked on the carrier end somehow but they are pointing the finger back at us.

do a "logs re smdr new 5000 ma e"
The system inserts an 'e' if there is an error on the call coming in.
Also, in the intercept handling form, intercept the trunks to the operator on an invalid number.  That will get the calls in.  If it doesn't then it's definitely the carrier.

Figures, SMDR was not on or configured at this location. Turned it on and will try this the next time the issue occurs.
