Need to Factory Reset a Mitel 5000
« on: July 07, 2017, 03:36:03 PM »
We just inherited it from another company who abruptly went out of business. No one knows the password.

Is there any way to reset this unit to the factory defaults and if so can can someone tell me how and what the default username/password is?

You can default the entire database through the front panel, the defaults are admin/itpassw but you must change them on first login. I can't remember if doing that wipes it's license though, either way you might have to get a new license depending on the history of this system.

It is my understanding that this will wipe the license.

Ziggy32,

You can clear the default the database through the front panel as suggested, but the license, if it has one, will remain intact.

Thanks,

Steven
