Extending rings or Adding a greeting
« on: May 17, 2013, 01:09:16 PM »
We have the Mitel 3300

Is it possible to extend the rings when calling the main line, the line the Receptionist answers and/or if someone calls in and the Receptionist doesn’t get to the phone, instead of the call going to voicemail or (whcich has our night greeting), saying our school is closed can we have something to say that says, please hold, please continue to hold, someone will be right with you, etc. to be on during working hours, like keeping the call  on hold till Receptionist can get to it.   Keep callers on hold and hearing an announcement until Receptionisht picks.  Hope that’s clear.

If the receptionist is using a regular IPphone the best option is to use ACD

RAD - Attendant Overflow
Attendant Overflow provides a recorded message for calls which have not been answered by the attendant within a programmable time. Without this feature callers could be forced to listen to ringback for several minutes during peak traffic times.

The system queues incoming calls against the attendant and gives the caller ringback. Calls that are not answered within a programmable time are connected to a recorded message. After the message is finished, the caller is connected to a music source and remains queued against the attendant or is rerouted to the attendants second alternate destination.
