Turn Conf Unit on Shortcut
« on: February 27, 2013, 02:46:26 PM »
I would like to make a key that will turn on the conf unit for a one touch button.  Instead of going into blue superkey and then conf unit.

I tried to create a key with the line type set to Application, and Phone application set to conference unit.  But it barks at me when I save.  Here is the error.

"The phone app line type must be selected when a phone application feature is selected"

Any advice?  I want to make turning it on as easy as possible for our users..

Thank you,

alright, I ended up figuring out that I selected application when I needed to select "phone app".  So I changed to that and testing.  The button isn't working yet, but I will keep playing with it for now.

I also have an issue getting the conf unit button to work, when programmed via the webpage it just opens the super key menu, I have had my phone vendor log this issue with mitel for me.

I have found though if you program the button directly on the handset (using super key, program keys etc) then it works

Stupid question, but why not just use the mouse controller that comes with the 5310 conference unit, just push the button and it activates immediately?

On all that I have done you just push the speaker key on the attached phone and that turns the conference unit.....

I thought you had to program a special button on 5330 and 5340 phones for this.

The speaker button on mine just activates the phone speaker phone and not the conference unit.

I seem to recall at one point that the speaker button did trigger the attached conference unit but just tested ours and it does not.

I think it depends on the phone....looking at the 5340 instructions it would appear that you can only do it via the superkey and the app functions, its always going to be two stage to switch it on via the phone.

Hi sorry for delayed response.  I as well did not get a mouse controller with my speaker set.

If I hit the speaker button, it doesn't turn on the speaker set.  Only way I can is to go into the blue superkey and turn on, and then control the volume and mute from that screen.  And now that I say that, it makes me believe that having a shortcut to turn on the speaker set not necessary if you need to have the screen up just to be able to control the volume and mute?

Maybe I should look into getting the mouse add on.

did you try programming the conf button on the phone as per my comment above?

Superkey -> Settings -> Programmable Keys -> (select the key you want to use) -> view applications (very top key) -> conference unit -> Save -> close all the way out.
