Mitel MXeIII SATA Hard Drive Replacement

Hello guys
Requesting if you could tell me something on this.
I am planning to put one SATA 250GB Hard Drive into the MXEIII. This Hard Drive has not been bought from Mitel but from a hardware shop down the road. Is it possible to use this hard drive in the MXE III. If there will be any issues, please let me know.

I don't know about a 250G drive but:
Not that I've ever seen anybody do this...
and Not that Mitel might have some issues with this...
If it were possible....

You'd use the "fixpartition"  entry in to boot script.

Not that I've seen the before but it would look something like:
boot device : motfcc
file name : Boot_Install
host inet(h) : <host IP>
other(o) : FixPartition

Yes it will work fine, though you wont get too much support if it's discovered to not be a "Mitel" HDD.

I've done it before for a lab machine, partially to test if it would work, and to actually make use of a system that otherwise would have been used for spare parts.

Seen it done on an MX. No support from Mitel. If you do it during the warranty period you void the warranty. Would think the best chance for success is if you buy the same manufacturer, model number and spec.

I have done this on several machines that are out of warranty... mostly MX controllers, and they work fine, just do a manual install and use the FixPartition flag on a 3300 and if you ever need to do this in a SX-200ICP just pop in a install CompactFlash and go, works fine.

This Hard Drive was blank. When I loaded the software for the, it was set to the following settings :

boot device : qefcc
processor number : 0
hostname : bootHost
filename: Boot_Install
inet on ethernet(e): 10.2.2.15:ffffff00
inet on backplane:
host inet(h): 10.2.2.10
gateway inet(g):
user(u): ftp
ftp password (ftp) : ftp
flags(f): 0x0
target name (n):
startup script (s):
other (0): FixPartition

Is the above good enough to put this system into production.

No that will not put the system into production. Those are the setting that are used to install the software on a new hard drive. You need those settings to install the software and when done you need to change them to the normal settings. Look in the tech handbook for the correct settings.

If you used the settings you show then you did a manual install and the system will not have any licenses or database so when you correct the settings it will boot but not be able to support any phones until you restore the licenses and the database.

Actually when it's done, the settings will be changed to normal for you
