Providers
« on: August 20, 2012, 11:22:27 AM »
Has anyone had any dealings with Comcast Business Class for trunking? They are installing a PRI for me and will not allow me to test prior to the official turnup (they call the final port of any DIDs moving to them the turnup) without paying. Minimum 2 hours at $180/hr. How am I supposed to test their circuit before it really goes live?

Anyone else run across this? traditional providers leave it with test numbers after the install until the final turnup without any questions.

We've had pretty good luck with them.   Not a lot installed but the ones they have appeared to go in well.
Kinda sucks they wont pretest with you.  I wouldn't call that great customer service on their part.

I've had several carriers that wont do a pretest....kinda sucks but one of our PRI testers emulates the CO so we can do some of the tstign with that.

I can test with my own equipment too, that isn't my concern. I want to make sure the provider didn't screw something up.

I did a couple of Comcast PRI circuits in Minnesota a few years ago, both were wham-bam-thank you ma'am and work great with no issues... Same with Midcontinent Communications and Charter Communications, their PRI's just work every time. Basic NI-2/Bellcore and pretty much everything default on every one I installed and they just took off.

Now, recent LEC PRI's are another story... but for another thread.
