Re routing callers
« on: March 15, 2012, 06:45:12 PM »
We have the 3300, when callers call into two of our main lines they have the option to select 1  which will transfer them to our Security Office extension.; but if no one pics up then it will go to the voicemai.-they don't want that anymore.  I need to change this so I guess if they select 1 - it will go to our 24/7 Security Guard's cell phone number instead; so that they get a live person.

I think I need to change configurations some where in the Nupoint but not sure where to start.  Is anyone familiar with how to do this?

Thank you.

Create a system speed dial that points to the cell phone number.
Be sure the set the "Over ride toll control" to yes.
In mailbox 1 set the extension number to be the speed dial number.

That should take care of it for you.

Create a where - System speed dial on one of the keys in Users and Devices
Where would override toll control be??

Where "In mailbox 1 set the extension number to be the speed dial number".

That should take care of it for you.

I'm so knew at this, bascially teaching myself.

Log into the system and use the drop down box to go to all forms alphabetically.
From there look up "system speed dials"   (I think that's still the name of the form)
You add the speed dial there.

I hope this is a Better & Clearer explaination:   The main receptionist line - when you call it the recording gives you the option to press 1 if you want to be transferred to the Security office, if it is selected it will ring the Security Office desk phone extension.  But instead of that the Security Office wants it to ring the Security's cell phone.

I breifly spoke with you Telecom technician who intially configured it, he said the 1-key dialing is handled in the NuPoint.  Don't know what he means and he want us to charge us $175 to tell/show me any further information.  I would like to be able to configure this myself, especially for the future, if I'm asked to change again.  Thank you.

Is there a mailbox '1' built in the system?
If yes, check the programming to see what extension is programmed in there.   Dial that extension from your phone to see what you get.

If there isn't a maibox '1' then I would expect that there's a submenu programmed somewhere.  Look through the multi level attendant menu to see whats there.
