DID numbers route
« on: April 14, 2010, 05:17:37 PM »
Any one tell me what will be the procedure to route DID numbers to an extensions numbers if an extensions range is differ from the DID range?
Example my DID range is 100-199 but extensions that programmed are 400-499, so what i need is all incomming call to a DID 100 has to route extension 400 and outgoing calls from the extension 400 to a public numbers, the caller ID has to view DID number 100.
- i am using R8 software with SIP trunking.

Couple ways I can think of.

1 - Set up system speed dials.  So 101 is a speed call for 421
2 - On the trunks (service assignment I think, but would have to look), strip the 1 and insert a 4.  Then 101 is 401.

ok so verify how many digits of DID you are recieving from you service provider. If it is just 3 (100-199) then in the trunk service assignment for your trunks set the number of digits to absorb to 1 and the digits to be inserted to 4 this will strip the 100 to 00 and then insert 4 making 400
