IP phones not connecting internally
« on: January 26, 2009, 08:51:15 AM »
Hi guys,

I have an ongoing issue where some internal extensions fail to connect to other internal extensions. The agent making the call can hear the recipient but the recipient cannot hear the caller even though the call connects. I have found a work around to this problem by flashing the IP sets and downloading the latest firmware. This solves the issue for a few days and then it reoccurs.

IP sets: 5010 & 5020 IP handsets
Console: 3300 ICP

Have you thought about upgrading the 3300 to a newer rel? This may solve your problem, I know that one of the 7.1 rel was fairly unstable (not sure which one).

I'd have to agree with Mattmayn on this one.  If you're sure it's not your network, (i.e. you reboot your data switches and it still doesn't work) then get to the lastest version of the 3300 before you burn a lot of time.

I'd guess that 95%+ of one way audio issues I see are IP routing related.  That said, upgrade is probably the easiest first step.....
