Mitel IP 3300 ICP Emulator or Admin Guides
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:21:25 AM »
I need to get some real quick exposure to the Mitel IP 3300 as I will be helping a customer SIP Trunk to another VOIP system.  I have no Mitel experience and am looking to find an emulator or some admin guides that will help me learn how to configure SIP Trunks on the Mitel.

Thanks.

There wont be an emulator so it will have to be on a real switch.

Can you tell us what the far end pbx is?  I may be able to get a specific document related to it.

Ralph,

The far end pbx is a ShoreTel VOIP system.

Thanks for your help.

Ralph,

I have heard that you have to pay for Mitel software upgrades.  Do you know if there is SIP Licensing that needs to be purchased in order to use SIP Trunks inside of the Mitel system?

Did you by chance use to work for SunTel?

Depends on when you bought the system if you have to pay for upgrades or not.
When the 3300 first came out you didn't need to.
Now you need to have Mitel's Software assurance.
The older systems have been Grandfathered in.

There are two SIP licenses available for the 3300.   Station and Trunk.   If you want to connect to a PBX you need a SIP trunk license.  One for each connection you need.  If you want SIP phones/softphones, you need a SIP station licenses for each one.

Yes.  I still work for SunTel in the remote services center.   Joyfully maintaining Mitel products since 1992.
