Office 250 SSL certificate expiring, default username/pass?
« on: October 11, 2022, 11:30:31 AM »
We have a MiVoice Office 250. When I open the admin console there's a message that says "The phone system SSl certificate will expire in 15 days. Would you like to open the phone system AWS webpage to generate a new phone system SSL certificate now?" When I click yes it takes me to the 250 web GUI where it wants me to log in. I've tried a bunch of different default username/password combos here but can't get in. Any ideas what it could be?

What will happen if the SSL cert does expire?

AWP password should be the same username/password as you use for the System Admin & Diagnostics tool.

The SSL certificate is used to secure the AWP & SAD tool connections, and is just a self-signed certificate as far as I know.

Unfortunately, I don't know the username/passwords that our saved connections used, they've been saved since I started here. By AWP you mean the web GUI, right?

So if the SSl cert expires the only thing that would happen is the username/passwords to connect to our various controllers in different locations would be sent over cleartext instead of encrypted?

I think you'll just get a warning that the certificate is expired until you can generate a new one.

Contact your support vendor for the admin credentials.

If you can get into the system programming with the stored password, you can reset the admin password... You don't need to know the existing one.

Open the System Programmer and go to MiVoice Office 250 -> Maintenance Accounts, right-click on admin user and select Edit Password and set it to whatever you chose. Remember it, you will have to update it in the System Admin & Diagnostics application.

Herpderp,

Unfortunately, I don't have the software on my machine anymore, but I think you should be able to right-click on the button you would normally use to start up DB programming within the System Administration and Diagnostics program and one of the options is to go to the webpage and it will auto log you it with the saved credentials.

I also believe you have access to open a Putty connection and to manage the account as well.

Thanks,

TE
