Transfer EMEM mailbox info to new system
« on: October 13, 2021, 12:56:40 PM »
Some of the users are moving from this MXeIII-L to a new AX controller recently added to this cluster. They use embedded voicemail.  When they move, they will maintain their extension number, but will have a new mailbox on the AX controller.  Is it possible to move the users recorded name, greeting, and messages from the MXeIII-L controller to the AX controller?

Short answer... No.

There are ways of using ftp and going in to the controller, downloading the raw files, and then moving them one by one by hand to the new system, although it usually requires the user to setup their mailboxes anyway to get the placeholder files there first. Basically it unless it is for something very unusual, it's more work than it's worth by a long shot.

Give users a deadline and just say all messages must be retrieved by XX date, then make them set it up new. The hassle just isn't worth it.

There used to be info on backing up and restoring voicemail on the 3300, that being said, not sure it works on v( or an AX
