Can't delete analog line.
« on: August 04, 2020, 06:21:43 PM »
Hello Mitel community,

I'm trying to delete an analog line ext 1284 and I get an error "Changing device number and hosting information at the same time is not allowed". I'm not trying to change the device number. If I go into the device and hit apply without making any changes I get "resiliency is not supported for the specified device type" Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with resiliency, my only goal here is to delete this extension so I can recreate it on an IP phone.

This is all on a Mitel 3300

What version are you running? Usually we delete the extension all together and add it back as IP when it's changing device types.

Right, I'm trying to delete the extension all together and that's where I'm having this issue.
Mitel Release level: 7.0 SP1 PR1
Active software load: 13.0.1.28

Thanks.

Is there more than one system involved? Also may need to delete from telephone directory before doing the extenstion

-Is there more than one system involved?

Sort of, we have 2 controllers, but only one has analog connections the other is strictly
IP devices. This is an analog line and while IP devices on this controller can fail over
to the other controller analog devices can not do that.

-Also may need to delete from telephone directory before doing the extension

I was able to delete the line from the telephone directory but when I go to delete it from User and Device Configuration I get "Changing device number and hosting information at the same time is not allowed"

I plugged a mitel superset 4025 into the line to see if it would work and received the error message "Waiting to sync message". I was hoping plugging the line in would cause some sort of resync and clear the error but no change.

a 4025 is not an analog phone so it wouldn't work on an analog port. Or is this a DNIC station? Also, if you still have 4025's, what software version are you running? Those sets haven't been supported for several releases now.

Good catch my terminology was off 4025 is a digital phone as suppose to an analog.

Mitel Release level: 7.0 SP1 PR1
Active software load: 13.0.1.28

We have several 4025 on our network and they are all working.
After digging into this looks like we have 3 extentions behaving this way.
Our Mitel rep is here today. I'll post what he finds.

So our Mitel rep spent the day trying to figure it out and find anything.
Turns out there is a higher tier of mitel support however  it cost 4k a year.
Unlocking the number isn't really worth that much to us.

Plot twist: One of the number suddenly allowed me to delete it and reallocate the number to an IP phone.
However we don't know why the issue suddenly resolved on that line but still is a problem on a couple of
other lines.

So the higher tier of support cost several thousand to access.
The other lines with the same issue have not cleared
Decided to abandon those extensions.
If anyone comes up with a real solution please post.

Try deleting it from the maintenance commands.

Disable AutoComplete and use command DN DELETE *DN*

Sorry to reply to an old thread but here is what Mitel said to us about this issue since I'm having the same problem:

"As for the analog deletion; it looks like the extension was programmed with resiliency. Analogs cannot be resilient. In order to delete this extension, we will need to run a Debug code. This would require a ticket to be opened"
