DTMF Tone Volume

Have a customer that has analog trunks from the PBX to Alarm panels for monitoring alarm systems and they are asking me if there is a way to increase the DTMF tone volume from the PBX.

I haven't found anything that would suggest I could make changes to how DTMF tones are sent out of the PBX.

The tones are sent at an industry standard level for the Tone Plan in place, which is based on geographic region (probably North America in Canada)... You can't adjust the DTMF level, but make sure the trunk is set to CO Long (short is default) and the Balance is correct. Also make sure you use the Line Measure Tool to make sure the settings are correct.

The trunks are not connected back to a telco provider.  They are connected from the 3300 to an alarm panel probably in the same room.
It is an alarm company and the panels are interfaced to the PBX with analog trunks.

Don't think line measure tool will work if not connected to a telco.

I would think that the PBX is connected to the alarm panel as ONS extensions. If so, they might need to have settings changed. Also incoming trunks type can cause issues. Not enough info to go on here.

So the alarm panel is acting as the "CO"? In other words, it is providing 48vDC @ ~23ma or better, and 75-120vAC ringing indication? That is the minimum requirement of a LS port on the 3300 controller.

I am kind with johnp here and wonder if this is the right setup... I have never seen an alarm panel connect to the 3300's LS ports, unless it was for a telco line but went through the alarm panel first (very common).
