Ring Groups configuration
« on: October 09, 2017, 08:08:18 AM »
Hi

We currently have a Ring Group with 4 members, it is set as 'Ring All'.

Is it possible to mix 'ring all' with 'terminal ring', i.e

Ring both Member 1 & Member 2
If no answer then Ring Member 3
If no answer the Ring Member 4

Additionally, if no answer with Member 4, forward the call to a mobile.
And can the users amend the mobile number themselves when required?

Any assistance with what can be achieved in this scenario would be appreciated

Thanks

Normally I would just create multiple ring groups and then overflow from one group to the other using the timers in the group.

e.g.
RG1 has members 1 & 2 with overflow point to RG2 (Call ringing timer as desired)
RG2 has member 3 with overflow point to RG3 (or 1, 2 & 3 if you want the other phones to keep ringing)
RG3 has member 4 with overflow point to RG4 (or 1, 2, 3 & 4 if you want the other phones to keep ringing)

After ring group 3 you could overflow to a speed call that has the mobile.
If you want more flexibility with the mobile you could create a hunt group (it doesn't have to have members in it) and then use 3rd party call forwarding to forward it to a mobile.

Thanks for the reply.

I configured the ring groups as you suggested and the setup works as intended.

I will have a go at the speed call to mobile next - just looking into how this is done.

A further query - Is possible to set call forwarding on a ring group number?  i.e. if no answer on last ring group, can this number be programmed to forward to a mobile.

Reason I ask - if the users wish to change the mobile number that the call eventually ends up at - can they login into a phone (We have 5340e) with the ring group pilot number and set call forward to their preferred mobile number?

Thanks

That's where I was going with the Hunt Group.
Create a Hunt Group and forward it to a mobile, the last ring group would overflow to this Hunt Group (which should forward to mobile)
You can then use Call Forward Third Party FAC to forward the HG to different mobiles. (Assuming your COS allows this)

Give it a go and come back with any issues.

Hi

I managed to use the speed call option to overflow calls to a mobile , which satisfies our requirements.

Thanks for your assistance
