Can't reroute to VM after call forward always
« on: September 11, 2017, 06:17:31 AM »
Hi all,

I'm a new user and this is my first post so please be gentle with me...

MiVoice Business 7.1 PR2

I have extn A forwarding (always) to Extn B in Call Forwarding Profile - works OK
Extn B reroutes to voicemail - works OK if I ring Extn B

However, when I ring Extn A it rings Extn B OK but does not forward to B's voicemail - it keeps ringing.

I assumed this was class markable, so I've played with the COS settings but to no avail

Thanks in advance for any thoughts

Kind Regs,
Rob.

Bobbley,

I believe this falls under the odd auspice of, "you can't reroute a reroute". If you ask me why you can't do that I don't have an answer, but I believe that is your problem.

What you could try is breaking the reroute functions hold on the call; like sending it to the NuPoint and then having it timeout to Extension B.

Sorry,

TE

Try this:
At both phones, manually call forward on RNA to VM.
Leave the rerouting you created in place but forward via the sets menu or FAC.

What you are experiencing is by design.
Rerouting follows the original number dialed (even if call forwarded), it doesn't follow the next extension's reroutes.

If you want the call to go to voicemail you need to set the reroute 1st alt to go to voicemail on extension A.
When you do this the caller will end up in the VM Mailbox of extension A not B. (again the original number dialed)

If you want the call to go to the mailbox of extension B then you will need to break integration some how.
If you search the forums there are a couple of ways, normally involving Name Tag Hunt Groups or ACD Paths.
