Mitel Software Applications / Re: Micollab Client 6.0
« on: November 03, 2016, 10:11:13 AM »
I had the same issue and ultimately used a Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy Object (GPO) to put the shortcut into the startup folder of end users.  If I remember correctly, I think I used a startup script.  I didn't put the exe in the startup - just the shortcut.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Help with Secondary Extension Key

The new extension did see the light on her phone light up - but there was no sound to alert her.  Since the phone isn't in her field of site, we need a ring as well.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Help with Secondary Extension Key
« on: August 02, 2016, 04:04:03 PM »
In the multiple years I've taken care of this system, I haven't had to program much of anything.  Now I need some help and Mitel has a 5 day wait for help.

CEO is going out for a week x2901
CEO's assistant is also going out for part of that time x2902
CEO's assistant has Programmable Key 3 set as a Secondary Extension Key for 2901 Ring when "1"

Different assistant x2909 has been volunteered to receive CEO's calls in the same way (if I can't figure this out, we'll just forward the darn thing).
Different assistant has Prog Key 2 available, so I set it to Secondary Extension Key for 2901 Ring when "1"

I call 2901 from my cell (full number) and Different Assistant gets no sound from her desktop phone.  CEO's assistant still does.  How do I get the Different assistant's phone to ring so she can pick up the phone?

Thanks.

I think you are going to have to manually edit the MSI file.  I don't know if the arguments exist to put into an MST file or answer file to deselect the Outlook options.  If you search on MSI file in this board, you might find older discussions (I think I did it once) on how to approach this.  Or call Mitel.

Except for the client itself.

Red X everyone of those items and that will de-couple Micollab from Outlook - which is a good idea.

7
Sorry.  I'm not sure I understand the question.

I am guessing you are on the right track.  Uninstall and reinstall with a modified version so that there is no integration between Outlook and MiCollab.  The integration is a nice idea, but ultimately it's a performance drain.

If you search these discussions, I think you will find various entries on how people modified the msi file.

I put in a ticket with Mitel.  I got a reply from a Mitel dealer out of Texas (I'm in Virginia with very capable Mitel dealers all around me).  They're saying I'd have to upgrade MiCollab from 6 to 7.

Couple of questions if anyone knows:

Is this a completely new MAS appliance - or is simply a MiCollab "blade" upgrade within my existing MAS server?

Will this new version of MiCollab work with a Mitel/Intertel 5000?  I suspect it might not, but I cannot recall.

Will it work with the built in VM on the 5000.  We don't have Nupoint.

Thanks for any feedback.

I've opened up a ticket with Mitel.

I guess I have the good luck to have a very popular question, without much in the way of answers.

The MitelMiVoiceForLync.msi still will not install with Skype for Business because it says that Lync is not installed.  Well of course Lync is not installed - it's now called Skype for Business.  Shouldn't MiCollab 6.X work with Skype for Business?  Is there an updated version of MitelMiVoiceForLync.msi that will work?

After YEARS of talking about going to Office 365, we are finally migrating our mailboxes in about a week.  With that will come Skype for Business.

Here are a few links I've found for piecing this all together.  First, I finally found the link to download the MitelMiVoiceforLync.msi

Since the micollab client is located here on your MAS:

https://mas-server/ucs/dl/UnifiedCommunicatorAdvanced.msi

The Lync plugin is located here:

https://mas-server/ucs/dl/MitelMiVoiceForLync.msi

Whether this works with Skype rather than Lync - I don't know.  We're only on 365 Proplus at the moment and we'll be upgrading to enterprise in a week.  I ran the msi file for fun, and it said I didn't have Lync installed.  I do have Skype for business installed - but it's in no way active yet.  It's installed as part of ProPlus - but not active yet because we haven't migrated to all of the 365 services.

There is a good blog post about the integration here:

https://gshaw0.wordpress.com/2015/05/07/lyncing-up-mitel-voip/

and the youtube video it references is here:

One of the concerns I have is that we do not have MAS sync'd with Active Directory.  The blog post above implies it's necessary.  Is it?  And if so, has anyone gone from a stand-alone MAS installation to a MAS where the users are sync'd with AD?  That sounds like a mess!

Thanks for any further feedback you can provide.

All of those programs run under Windows 7.  You should be able to download them - although you may need some kind of login to the Mitel Site to do so - I'm not sure.

One of the usb keys is probably for the Attendant Console.  Our receptionist's PC runs the console and has the special USB Key (don't ever lose it!).  Not sure what the other key you speak of is for.

On a side note - the DB Admin program is not something I would normally put on a receptionist's PC - unless he/she is also the phone admin.  The DB Admin program can run on any PC and connects to your 5000 PBX via your LAN - so I would install it on a SysAdmin's PC instead.

If that second usb key is also a Mitel key - then you will need to identify what it belongs to.  Hope this helps a little!

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MiCollab Client & 5000 integration

I usually just hit the "Sync Now " button on the MiCollab Client Service Configuration area of the server with PBX Node Synchronize selected.  We don't use the softphone feature, so I'm not sure if I'm missing something in the question.

I'm just guessing, but it could be the link between Outlook and MiCollab - and therefore of minor value.

Or I could be completely wrong.
