Hi brantn,

We have asked the provider to create a route to our remote branch. They did so and everything worked properly.

So can I use a proxy in in the Network Element to get around this issue?

Was there ever any resolution on this? I am having the same issue.

I have a 3300 setup to do SIP with a local provider. Everything seems to be working well with the exception of ringing another device at a branch location on a different subnet.

If I have the DID resolve to an extension in Head Office it works fine. When I change the DID to ring a set in a branch location I get one-way audio.

I believe that the 5330 set is trying to talk to the IP address of the SIP Peer directly and not bridge the call through the Mitel 3300 controller.

Is there a way to force the call to only use the Mitel 3300 controller?

For example the call comes in on 1.1.1.1 and connects to my Mitel at 2.2.2.2. Mitel on 2.2.2.2 calls extension 3.3.3.3. I don't want 1.1.1.1 to talk to 3.3.3.3 directly. I want the Mitel 3300 at 2.2.2.2 to retain call control.

Any suggestions?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Music on phone
« on: July 26, 2010, 09:53:28 AM »
Are we able to play music through the phone as we did with legacy PBXs?

I don't want music on hold. I want the user to be able to press a button or dial a feature access code and listen to a radio station.

Thanks.

The logs in OCS look clean.

An OCS to OCS call is instant.

I do notice that when I answer the call it indicates in OCS that the call is on hold for a few seconds prior to me hearing the person on the other end.

Would you recommend wireshark to debug this or the OCS logging?

I have given up on this one.

I believe you have to choose your poison here.

Either you have the button set up as a speedcall button to be able to use it while in a call (losing the busy indicator) or set it up as a DSS/Busy (loose the function in a call) and get the busy light.

If you can think of a clever work around to get the both features please let me know.

Thanks.

I know exactly what you are doing. We are doing the same and have it working.

We set up our hot desk users to have an external dialing prefix and hot desk external number. In our case the prefix is 8.

We then configure the 3300 to route all call that begin with 8 over the sip trunk to the mediation server.

In AD you must not use the checkbox for PBX integration. This will allow those hot desk users to configure their OCS to simultaniously ring the OCS extension and their mitel extension and their cell phone.

Make sense?

I can assist further if you need.

We're on 4.0 or 4.1 and everything works very well.

We're using direct SIP and an LBG with a mediation server.

With SIP, the mediation server and the LBG you have all of the bells and whistles. Call control is still with the 3300.

If you leave out the LBG I believe your OCS presense will be lost.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / SIP Trunk Delays when answering
« on: July 20, 2010, 05:08:17 PM »
We have Exchange and OCS integrated with our 3300s.

The only little bug I see is that when answering calls I have about a 4 second delay before I can hear the other person spleaking.

The same applies for the exchange sip trunk. When the call is transfered to exchange there is a few second delay before you hear the exchange auto attendant speaking.

Is there a setting to tell Mitel 3300 to immediatly connect the call?

Thanks.

I tried Audacity too. Not much luck.

I ended up using GoldWave to do it.

When saving the file I saved it as type wav and attributes were ulLaw, mono.

Hope that helps.

We have a 3300 with our receptionists using 5324 sets with 2 5448 PKM expansions.

When they are in a call you cannot use the 5448 buttons unless it is a call transfer.

What we are trying to do is give them the ability to transfer to voicemail directly. What they do is press the transfer button, then press a speedcall to extension 1002 (this is the voicemail direct deposit extension) and then we would like them to press the button on the 5448. However they cannot. The buttons are disabled.

Anyway to keep the 5448 buttons enabled all of the time?

Also, is there a way to program one of the softkeys on the 5324 to send call transfer + 1002?

Thanks.

I'm guessing that the Mitel guide - SIP Trunking with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 UM did not work for Exchnage 2010?

That document worked pretty well for me.

However I used a system speed call entry and ARS digits dialed entry to rout the call onto the SIP trunk.

We currently have OCS 2007 R2 installed and configured with the Mitel 3300 and Mitel LBG. We also have Exchange 2007 integrated. All works well.

However not all of our users have Mitel deskpnones. When a user does not have a deskphone or are not logged into a phone (hot desk user) the OC (Office Communicator) softphone will not receive the call.

Only when the users is logged into the Mitel system will they have the deskphone and OC simultaniously ring.

Any idea how to have OC ring when the user is not logged into the Mitel system?

Thanks.
