Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: 3300 and Office 365 not using NuPoint
« on: December 16, 2015, 01:00:02 PM »
I was beginning to get the same feeling after a few days people will usually comment or not.  The sad part is our vendor is pretty much useless.  We are required to use them for in house political reasons that are above my pay grade to know.  If it is not a vanilla install they will not help.

Thanks for your time on this I will stop this thread.  If we get it going I will update with what we find.  We are pretty resourceful.  We were told not to use our local MS exchange for voicemail 5 years ago and we have had it running well for years.

Thanks for the help.

That was kind of mean.  If you don't want to help then don't reply.  You are correct in stating that I don't understand what is going on(You pointed it out not once but twice! ouch).

Thanks for the tip on checking the Peer options.  I will look into it.

To anyone else reading this.

I want to understand the transfer better. I have been watching a syslog trace out of the median gateway.  When the call goes to voicemail I see it pass up to the Office365 server and then when the transfer back to an extension is made we see it go back through the Mediant 1000 to the 3300.  It is my belief that the call is then handed off to the 3300 until voicemail is requested again.  Does anyone know if this is true or if Office365 continues to track the call even if it is just a transferred call that is answered by the called party?

Understanding this would help as I trace the call further.  I have wireshark set to collect packets on the connection between the Mediant Server and Office365.  I am currently setting up a switch on the connection between the Mediant 1000 and the 3300 so I can watch that also on Wireshark.  All I see on the mediant to Office365 look like good handshake and data packets but they stop after the call is transferred.

Thanks for the help.

We are connecting through IP not PRI.  I have provided a link below to our documentation.

http://www.audiocodes.com/filehandler.ashx?fileid=2199440

We did find a setting for a codec in the codes section on the AudioCodes box but there was only one and it is set to T38  which is some sort of fax thing.  Not sure we are even in the right place.

We have done the change something.  Oops broke the whole thing.  Quick change it back.  Routine enough to start asking around and being a bit more careful.  It seems like it is more in the 3300 because the call is transferring properly and if the other person picks it up the connection stays connected until one of the parties hangs up.  Other than the static instead of audio it is working fine.

It is my belief( and I am often wrong) that once the transfer starts it should be back in the 3300 and nothing should be going to Office until voicemail is chosen again. Since the connection is made.  Both parties can answer the phone and the call stays connected until one of the parties hangs up.  The only thing wrong with the call is the static.

Thanks for both replies.

acejavelin.

I am not sure what you mean.  we associate a phone extension with a mailbox but we don't do any configuration of the number in office 365.  The configuration of the extensions is in the 3300.  I apologize if I am missing something.  Please try and explain again if I am.

We changed the audio codec in the dial plan under settings to mp3 and WMA with no positive results.  We left it set to mp3.   I am working with someone on this and we were wondering if you meant in the Office 365 or in the Audio codes box. Please clarify.

Thanks again
Mark.

Thank you for your response.

All of our extensions are on DNI(4015 or 4025) phones.  No sip phones.

I added the multi call to my phone and tested and I still get the static if I answer a transferred call from voicemail.

We have voicemail with Office 365 using a mediant 1000 gateway.  Everything works well except when we set the auto attendant to transfer a call instead of leave a message.  The call gets transferred as expected and if the person receiving the call does not answer it the call goes to their voicemail as expected but if the person does answer the call they hear static.

We are unsure what the 3300 needs to see in order to transfer the call.  We are able to log the packets as they pass through the mediant 1000.  If someone knows something about the transfer process and could just shed some light on that we might be able to trouble shoot this on our own.

Thanks in advance.

We had the Mitel Network element set to TCP instead of UDP. For the most part we are working great.

Mitel Software Applications / 3300 to audiocodes mediant 1000
« on: November 05, 2015, 02:46:40 PM »
We currently use Microsoft UM as our voicemail.  We are attempting to connect to Office 365 for Email and voicemail.  We do not have nu point.  We have a network element defined with our current exchange and it is working great.  We configured another network element to work with audiocodes mediant 1000.  When we look in the syslogs of the audiocodes unit we see that it is talking to both office 365 and the mitel 3300.

We configured an extension in our ARS digits dialed that points to and ARS route that points to a SIP peer profile with the network element of the audio codes box.  We went through our current exchange configuration and duplicated it but are sending the calls to the Audiocodes box instead.  It is not working.

Has anyone done this or know of any documentation for the Mitel configuration portion?  We have plenty of documentation for the AudioCodes portion.

Thanks in advance.

The routing option is a bit out of my league.

Thanks for the replies.

« on: August 13, 2014, 12:06:19 PM »
We have a night on call person that forwards our help desk extension to his mobile phone.  The calls come through as if they dialed him directly.  Is there a way that he can know if a call came in that was forwarded to him separate from the calls that have directly dialed his cell number?

Thanks in advance

I also looked at simple smdr but I noticed that it had not been updated in a couple years.  I only looked at it through the on line demo.  I am fairly new to the dot net world and I felt that trying to piece together someone else's code might be a bit over my head.  I started working on a web based program for my company and it is moving along nicely.  I have it on line but I am still tweeking it so that I can open it to the public.  I plan on offering it as an open source project.

It will have two parts.
1) A service that is installed on a PC/server that does the data collection.

2) An asp site that displays the information collected and allows for configuration for the pbx or pbxs.(We have dual 3300s)

I needed a way so any user could log in and see their individual data or a supervisor could log in and see their departments individual extension data.

At this point I have the service working and I am displaying all the records collected.  I am working on a secure demo and the extension/user page.

I am attaching a screen shot.

Thanks Ralph,  It is working fine now.   I am going to rethink how I parse the data.  I am not sure the benefit of internal calls but it is always fun to have a challenge.

Joe,   I found the help file in the Mitel system with the SMDR fields. I use php and mysql to generate my call accounting system.  It has a nice web front end and every person can log in and see their call history, sort, search, and alter their user information.  I can also do some accounting functions but I am still working on that.  I am getting ready to convert the whole thing to a .net mssql site.  I keep track of the usage of my system and it is very minimal but as I stated above I love a challenge so I dont really care if it is used.

It was easier than I thought.  And I think I may have it figured out.  It appears on an Internal call there is no call origin.  The originating number shows up in the trunk origin and then in (What I call the detail) portion is some three digit code and the destination number.

example I normal call record. Ext 2273 calling out
07/26 11:53A 00:00:04 2273 2273 71XXXXXXXXX A X999

example II . Extension 2326 calling ext 2110.
07/26 11:54A 00:01:16 2326 011 2110 I 2110

Now I have to figure out my logic.  I am currently wondering why I am not seeing the 011.  Of course that is in my own programming logic.  For us collecting internal calls is going to be a new thing.

Do you know if the I prior to the last 2110 indicates an internal call?

I think I can but I will have to rewrite a bit of my code.  I don't want to lose any records.  I built my own call accounting system so individual users can log in and see their calls.  Most calls don't matter but if I randomly grab that one important call my users will freak out.  With my luck I will grab that one important call.  I will post back as soon as I can.  Thanks again for your help so far.

In the COS SMDR options I have both internal and external options set to yes for all.

I have attached a snapshot of the SMDR settings.

I am getting the record it is just missing the extension being called.  Is there someplace else that will restrict that particular information.

Thanks for your help.
