"not true.. the WAN connection can be in a private network (like a DMZ) without a direct public ip assigned to the interface."
i never said that you couldn't do it , its not supported though.
check the engineering Guidelines and you will thee there are only 3 modes for TW
- single nic on lan
- single nic in DMZ
- dual nic with public IP natively assigned

we had a couple of sites that had internal IP on wan and ended up with some issues with micollab sip softphone
changed them to single NIC and never had any further issues.

if the third nic is used it acts like a 2nd internal connection - is only supported for sip trunk cross connects

2
you can change MBG to be single nic by rerunning the setup my server and de-selecting the WAN interface

then you can open ports on MBG public ip on firewall and allow them to teh Internal Address of the MBG.
MBG with 2 interfaces is only supported when one of them has a public IP
if its lan mode or in DMZ it MUST have single network interface Eth0
its its got a WAN interface (Eth1 ) the WAN MUST be direct connected and have a public IP assigned

Mitel Software Applications / Re: How to set up post-call survey?
« on: August 31, 2024, 04:44:10 AM »
painful

you can set a post call dexstination in call coverage for extensions
- send this to an ivr hunt group
the ivr hunt group routes calls to a menu where the answers ( numeric are menu options)
each question is a menu

when the extension usre recoves a call they need  to tell the customer to stay on the line and the extension hangs up first
the call gets sent to the post call destination

reporting is rubbish - workflow branch reports
- looks ugly and has never been properly developed

was the micollab running as softphone - suspect its an audio device problem

teams is nasty and will steal the audio devices whenever it wants

might be that the MSL version isnt supported on the server you are trying to use

how are the drives connected  - have definitely had some issues in the past with raid cards not being recognsied

what version of msl?

you can also check them using the system monitoring in the audit section once you have activated the notification

mitai browser would probably do the trick

8
might be a calling line id problem - have seen this before when an invalid number for the trunk was being sent

try checking the call coverage pattern assigned to the extensions

each call coverage has a voicemail setting where you set the voicemail pilot number

not sure if thats supported for external numbers but you may be able to create a speedcall to the external and assign the speedcall to the call coverage

i dont believe that its possible - management is system based.

can you be more specific about what you are expecting it to be able to change

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MIR compatible with MiVB 8.0 PR3?
« on: June 10, 2023, 05:40:13 AM »
there is cti connection between MIR and MIVB as well as between MIR and MBG

with the flakey nature of MIR , i wouldnt risk trying to run anything but supported software versions on everything

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Controller upgrades
« on: April 06, 2023, 11:10:34 PM »
are you mitel certified ?
have you read any release notes for the new version you are thinking of installing ?
Don't assume that because you can see it listed that its supported and everything will work afterwards

At the lease you should read the release notes to see if there are any requirements for the upgrade

NOTE upgrades are not always an improvement ( especially GA releases)
- its normally best to wait until the 1st service pack for a GA release before changing to a new version)

if i was a maintainer , i wouldn't be too pleased with a customer trying out an upgrade and messing it up and then asking for us to fix it.
would your business suffer if there was an extended outage of the phone system whilst it was being fixed after it stopped working ?

And as others have suggested - the MIVB is normally the last system that should be upgraded if there are there servers in place
most others (micollab MICC MBG) are backwards compatible ( BUT NOT ALWAYS) sometimes all servers may have to be upgraded at the same time.

if your MIVB are clustered ( and sharing data) that is also an implication ( depending upon what version they are running and what you are planning on upgrading to)
