Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / QoS with Unmanaged switch
« on: July 26, 2024, 01:26:04 AM »
We are creating a temporary setup for one of our locations.   There will be a primary PoE switch but inorder to reserve data drops we will be using 5 to 12 port unmanaged switches to extend connectivity to multiple desk.  The unmanaged switches do not supply PoE so we will be using power adapters to power up our 6915 Mitel phones.

Using the unmanage switches with the Mitel 6915 VoIP phones and 3300 controller, could we experience Quality of Service issues with our calls?

Thank you

Hi again Jeff!

Thank you again for your post.  I was able to look in the right direct and find what I needed.

I added the Shot Pause in 3 times after my recording and this seems to have resolved the issue!

Your post was very helpful!

Hi Jeff!

Thank you!  Help is much appreciated!  We do the same thing with the Hunt Groups.  We setup Extension list so instead of the calls hunting for a open extension it rings them all at one time.
This group extensions is what I have for my prompt.  So when someone calls and presses #3 all the phones in that group will ring.

Yes, our calls are routing to a CRA.  This does seem to be a timing issue.  If I call in and don't listen to the prompts and just select the department number I am trying to reach, it will work.
If I listen to the prompts play out, by the time it reaches prompt #3 and I select it, the recording repeats and I have to press the number again and when it rings to the department only one extension in the group is ringing. Very odd.

What timers should I be looking at/for?

Thank you!

Thanks TE!
Yes it is going to a hunt group.  I did try removing the entire prompt menu and readding it.  I also tried prompt 4 instead of 3 but got the same results.  Prompt 1 and 2 work without hesitation.  Prompt 3 and 4 will repeat the submenu recording and the on the 3rd try it will ring but not the group, it rings to a single extension within the group.  It is very odd.
We are getting the following message when signing into the system could that have something to do with it?
Message:
Voice Mail did not reconcile Application(s) with Call Processing

I thought it was a timing issue because if you call in and just press the prompts without listening to the menu it works fine.  I just can't seem to find a setting that fixes anything.

Is there a tool I could use to trace the call as it moves through the AA?

Thanks again!

Hi

We have an auto attendant application under voice processor in our Mivoice 250.  We just recently discovered that prompt 3 is repeating even though it is set to ring to a group extension.

We call a tracking number that rings to our Direct Dial number that is pointed to the Auto Attendant extension.  The AA  picks up fine but when we are in the submenu only prompts 1 and 2 work correctly.  I have to hit prompt 3 twice before it rings and then it does not ring into the group it rings to one single extension. It seems like it is a timing issue and if we don't hit the prompt in enough time it does not route like it should but I am not sure.
I have not seen this before.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

acejavelin!

Thank you!

It looks like this combo is working!

Public Calling Party Number Passthrough - YES
Use Diverting Party Number as Calling Party Number - YES

I am still reviewing the packet captures to find the difference but now the customer number is showing as the FROM and P-Asserted-Identity and this is allow the correct number to display.
Before it was the CPN/Main # that was showing as both.

I appreciate all the help and input on this!

Thank you!

Thank you.

I set the Public Calling Party Number Passthrough to yes and the Use Diverting Party Number to No.

This did not make a difference.

I will keep trying.

What about CPN Restriction?  That is set to no at the moment.  Should I change that to yes?

Thanks

acejavelin!  Thank you!

I pulled a packet capture and that is exactly what is going on. The "From" number is the CPN and so is the P-Asserted-Identity.
So does this mean I need to get with the Carrier of the offsite number or my SIP trunk Carrier?

Lundah! Thank you!
I will give that a try and see what happens.

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / An MBG, SIP Trunk, and IVR Challenge
« on: December 22, 2023, 01:25:44 PM »
Good Afternoon

I am being challenge by our Mitel phone system as the moment and was hoping you could give me some direction.

Senario:
Customer calls main number and reaches our IVR (Call Flow setup in Micollab).  They select prompt 2 for our service menu and then prompt 1 to schedule an appointment.  When hitting prompt 1 there is a "blind transfer" to an outside number.  If their number is not in our system the outside number will transfer the call back to our service department group DID.
When this happens the service department see the CPN number of the SIP PEER Profile and not the customers number that is calling in.

Somewhere in the call the customer number is getting changed to the CPN number.  How can I prevent this from happening so that we see the correct customer Caller ID?

We have a SIP trunk and use a Mitel Border Gateway.  I think the Gateway is causing this issue but I am not sure.

I made some changes to our SIP Peer Profile but that did not fix anything so I put everything back like it was.  I am attaching our SIP profile settings from the MiVoice Business so you can see what they are.

I have reached out to our SIP provider and they are sending the correct Caller ID to us and if the call comes directly to the service department we can see the correct caller ID.  It is only when the call is transfered out and then comes back in that we have a problem.

Any guidance or direction with this is greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Dial 0 option 2 locations
« on: November 08, 2023, 02:29:25 PM »
We have a Mitel 3300 with 2 different locations added to it.  We have a speed dial setup for "0" to go to an extension at location A.  How can I configure another "0" for location B without affecting location A?

Thank you for your help!

Mitel 3300 / SIP Trunk

Problem:
Internal Outbound calling is going straight to customer's voicemail.

Trunk Attributes COR # 1
Hotdesk extension > Service Details > COR # 6

Adjustment:
I changed the Hotdesk Extension COR to #1 and this fixed the problem but the Caller ID showed as another one of our locations.  This Mitel is meshed between 3 locations.

Could this be the issue?  Does the Trunk Attributes COR need to be the same as the Extension COR?

Guidance needed.

Thank you!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Mitel 3300 SIP Speed Calls
« on: July 19, 2023, 03:45:59 PM »
Hi
This message may have needed to be opened under the SIP Group.  Sorry about that.  I had Speed Call on the brain and was thinking Mitel.

It looks like I have narrowed the issue down to the MiCollab.  Adding the Speed Call Extension to my Call Flow prompt is where I have a problem.  I can call the same Speed Call extension from my desk phone and it goes right through.
Something between the MiCollab, MBG, and SIP is not allowing the Audio.  I am just not sure what.
I have tried all the options, Blind transfer, Superviced Transfer, and Alternate Transfer.
Then I thought I would create a multicall extension and route that number to the speed call extension. Then I updated my Call Flow prompt and pointed it to the mulitcall extension and got the same result.
When the call leaves the Call Flow that is where I get the disconnected Audio.

Thanks again and if you have any direction for me I would really appreciate it!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 3300 SIP Speed Calls
« on: July 19, 2023, 01:42:05 PM »
Hi
We are currently on a SIP trunk.  I have created a Speed call extension to an outside tracking number with an IVR. I can call the extension and see the call going out, but there is no Audio.  If I dial the tracking number directly from the desk phone it works and I can here the IVR.  I am sure there is a setting somewhere that has been missed.  I am just now sure  where it is. Any direction and guidance on this would be great!

Thanks

@lundah

That did the trick!  Thank you so much.

@johnp Thank you that did point me in a good direction.  I see on the system option form that the Auto DN is setup with a start and end number.
When we register a phone at the primary location A it will grab one of those DN numbers and that works great.

However location B is in a different tine zone, when we register a phone at that location it will grab the Auto DN from Loation A and the Time will be off on the console.  The only way I have found to fix this is to manually go into the DN number and update the Network zone.

I would like to register a phone in location B and have it grab an Auto DN that is already setup with the correct Network zone.

I still have a lot to learn on the Mitel system.  This might not even be an option but I thought you could have mulitple location on one controller.

Thank you again!  System Option form was helpful.
