Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel MCD Transfer Announcements
« on: January 21, 2011, 10:14:16 AM »
We have a system running MCD 4.2 and I was asked about how to change the transfer announcements while in Auto Attendant.  The customer is asking if we can remove the....  "You are being transferred to....".

I have been searching the help files in the system but I can not locate any reference to it.  Can anyone help with this?

how do you log into this card using the Express Manager 4.11 application? The version is an earlier version, maybe rel2 or earlier. Manager 4.11 only has options for a dial up modem connection, isnt it possible to connect directly to the card? And is there a specific cable type that I would need?

Thanks

Have a 200 ICP Rel 5.0 using unified messaging. (Voicemail to email).  The 200 ICP uses the standard Port 25 to send outgoing mail to whatever IP Address provided to it.  We have a IT Administrator who will not use or open port 25 for SMTP relaying.  Even if he can use access control to limit what source addresses the smtp traffic comes from.  I can ping his server but can not telnet into the smtp server.

What do I do? He had allowed it to work using a public ip address using port forwarding.  Then he decided to remove that.  I was thinking of putting a router internally and do the port forwarding there.

My question is has anyone ever had to deal with this and isnt it possible to create serveral smtp virtual connectors and apply access control to them?

Our main hunt group 4400 has 8 ports 4401-4408. I removed 4408 from it and added it to a recrder hunt group for record a call.

It's still going on here. On a 5340, I'd see the envelope key flashing, press it and it says No Message.

I'm wearing out that Feature Access Code turning it off.

Where or how can I change the option from 9 to 7?

That is correct, it disables the ringing indicator (big red lamp) from flashing but the envelope still flashed.

I agree, I had to deal with the same issue as well. As well as flashing DSS/BLF buttons on a pkm and the sets are not even in DND.  I had to remove and add the DSS/BLF buttons back on to fix. What's up with that?

@Wiseguy, I believe you in that last port sending the activation/deactivation msg. I was thinking it was the first one. I will have to make sure there are no flashing MWI lights and switch the hg members around again.

I just tested this today. I turned off those two options in the Class of service of the sets only. I then left a message in the voicemail and the lights did flash.  Now disabling Message Waiting Ringing Lamp will only make the envelope key flash.

The question is based on the things I did below, do you think this resolved the issue of the MWI flashing without a call back msg or voicemail in the embedded mailbox?

I have a MCD 4.1 system in which the MWI flashes with no known call back message or voicemail.  The voicemail is embeded. 8 port capacity. The voicemail hunt group had ports 2-8 which the 'recorder' hunt group had port 1 (Record a call).

I changed this by putting ports 1-7 in the voicemail hunt group and port 8 in the record a call hunt group.  I have heard the there are specific ports that send the MWI activate/deactivate msg to sets.

Then to prevent sets from accidently being the cause, I disabled "Send Message" and the "Message Waiting" options in their COS which prevents these sets from even using the FAC to do so.

At this point the situation is being monitored and the customer will report any more flashing MWI sets.

So what do you guys think?

Can't you dial in using the TUI line, enter the extension and password and change it there?

Well I have someone tell me they can make a conference call happen one day and can't the next.

"There is an alternative method of setting up a phone to be auto answered whenever its called. So up to 7 parties can call it, and automatically be added into a conference. (Can't think of the official name at the moment though.)"

What I know is putting a caller on hold, and adding held parties to the next call made.

Does the Mitel have different working methods of setting a conference call with a 5340, if it is an incoming call or a outbound call?

The issue is this, when he uses his network adapter to reach the teleworker server I have to enable that mac address associated with the request. Then when he plugs in his Verizon Wireless USB Broadband Device a different MAC Address is associated with his laptop.

After I enable the second device (different mac address) his YA asks to send another Certificate Request.  Which I can approve until I revoke the earlier one.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Using Mitel IP Phone over VPN
« on: November 19, 2010, 01:31:39 PM »
Can't you just statically assign only the ICP/TFTP address in the phone?  It'll pick up a local DHCP and then it'll automatically reach for the ICP programmed.  If you can ping the ICP from China then it should work over vpn.  That is if certain services are allowed on your data network.  Had a customer who had all VOIP traffic blocked on their data network, couldn't use Teleworker at any of their locations.
