I was doing some security research with shodan.io and searched for "SX-2000 port:23".

The are systems open to the Internet. Even is the system password has been changed, telnet still has a default login.

Please don't plug your Mitel directly into the Internet!

I just found out this is a SIP-based PRI. I did know that last night.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Call Forward External - No ringback?
« on: January 08, 2013, 10:55:40 PM »
We just installed a PRI with Earthlink.

When someone form the outside dials an extension that is forwarded, they get no ringback. About 30 seconds of silence and then someone answers.

If I dial the extension internally, I hear about three rings and then answer.

Thanks

This command does not work on one of my 3300s. No error and no output when I click submit.

It appears that Live Content Suite only support the 5360. Is that correct?

I have also had this issue. With our message buttons reconfigured for Nupoint login, the user can not read the messages.

You could use any linux server to relay with a basic install. You also may be able to use the smtp server of your Internet provider.

I did not know about the TNA. I will try that tomorrow. If anything else strange happens, I will have to rebuild.

MSL 8.5.17.0 and 'localhost only' is already set. I am also the network person and I saw the spam on my firewall. I blocked port 25 on my firewall to stop the spam.

I found a new problem today. Squid proxy on port 3128. My MSL IP was published on a list of free proxy servers and it was flooded with traffic. I need to find out what network ports are required for Teleworker and block everything else. This MSL box was receiving 20 Mbits of Internet traffic the last couple of days.

Mitel Software Applications / MSL is sending spam.

My MSL box may have been hacked. It was sending spam so I blocked smtp with my firewall. From the CLI, I noticed there are many qmail-remote processes trying to send mail.

I thought this was somewhat secure to place on the Internet. Has anyone had this problem?
