MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Convert analog user to IP?
« on: August 12, 2021, 07:21:25 PM »
Just wanted to say thanks again.  I panicked for a minute since after removing the ext. I was unable to find the old ext from the drop down menu to apply to the new phone.  Not sure why, but it's just not listed.  What did work was just typing in the ext manually and hitting enter.

Can't help with the settings, but I use O365 and did notice a few random emails just not get sent, but not very often.  I can say however you should be able to just install the System Admin software your self.  Only takes a few minutes to install that and the db software.

Ok about to switch over a user now and not sure exactly how I would go about deleting the user?  I thought I could just hit delete on the user, but it says I can only delete the user in the system controller folder, but if I do that it seems like I'm not deleting the user, but instead deleting the circuit on the expansion board so not sure if that's the right place or not.

Ohh sweet I didn't know that you could re-assisng the mailbox from a disassociated account.  Now I already have existing IP users with that phone type when I create the new user do I just copy and paste from one of those existing users so I don't have to setup preference etc??

Thanks for the help!  I'm finding Mitel to be a lot more easier and user friendly over existing PB systems.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Convert analog user to IP?
« on: August 09, 2021, 12:10:12 PM »
I have several users I need to switch from Analog phones to IP phones.  Not sure if this is the best way, but I'm basically setting up a new user and just deleting the old account.  Here are the steps
Create new ext with 52/54 phone type
Boot the phone and setup that ext on the phone
change the existing users ext to something else and move over their ext to the new IP phone I created.
Create new mailbox and assign it to the user.

Doing it this way requires the user to setup their mailbox again which is the problem.  Not sure if there is a quicker or easier way so any suggestion are greatly appreciated.

Thank you sir.  I did do the keyamp, but didn't realize the pairs on the block had to be switched over.  A few test worked great, but sadly the cross connects furthest away on the block don't reach the blue pair and now I'll have to use jumpers to extend the pair.

Any suggestion on a good way to extend the lines with some type of grommet?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / old analog 550 phone swap to 8568 phone
« on: August 03, 2021, 05:46:29 PM »
I've basically taken over the phone system and slowly learning the programming etc.  I have a few users with the old 550 analog phone that I need to move over to the new 8568 phones.  The sales rep said plug and play, but when I plug in the 8568 I get nothing.  I'm not sure, but do I change the phone type of the user on the mi-office 250?  I have done this a few times when we upgraded to 5340 IP phones, but I've never setup a 8568 before.

I wasn't aware of the bug, but I have had problems where I have a different version of a ms software installed 32 / 64bit or even a DB engine and I would get that error.  The quick fix was to remove the mismatching software or setup a dedicated vm just for the 5000 which is what I ended up doing.
