That was what I had tried first, but the problem with that is that it records *after* the call has completed.  In our situation, I need to be able to locate what extension is currently on a specific call out.

Can real-time SMDR help in this case? Usually, it output one records when a call starts.

How would I access this?  All I currently know to do is in maintenance commands - logsys read smdr all match ###.  But again, this only shows calls after they've completed and even then, it's typically a minute after the call completes.  If you know a way to access smdr as real time, I'd try that, but from what I've seen, smdr is not realtime.  Even through telnet, the calls don't show up until after they've completed.

If you have MiCC you can view the status of any licensed extension via Contact Center Client.

Thanks for the reply.  We do not have that option.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Realtime call logs?
« on: May 21, 2024, 11:50:19 AM »
Is there a way to get realtime call logs from the 3300 MXe controllers?  I know I can look at SMDR, but those lag by a minute and only show up once the call has ended.  I am looking for realtime logging (much like whatever is used by 911 call reporting) where I can see that extension 214 just dialed 800-555-1212 and is still on the call.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

No idea on the ring tones, but for your second question -

You can customize what is displayed for each speed dial button.  For ours, we have 2 multicall lines setup - 1 displays the internal extension and the other displays the external extension.  As you can put whatever you want there, you could use a name if desired. Of course, this only applies to the first home page, so if they're on a a different home page, you'll have to move over to the home page where their line keys are.

We do this as well, but we're using MiCollab, so if you're not, then this may not apply.  For our setup, I had to set it to blind transfer.  FWIW

Thank you all for the advice.  I'll hold off for now and when we do decide to move to it, we'll have the vendor do it.

Thanks for the response!  Most things I'm comfortable with but this is one I haven't done yet.  Is it safe to assume that if I have an active service link subscription that I also have SWA?  I 90% sure we do have SWA.

Re your comment about completely powering off the system - is that *before* the upgrade or after?

I didn't know there was a difference in backups from System admin tool vs server manager.  Which one is better for this situation?
Backup / Restore - no problem, have done that a few times.

Thanks for the comparison on the two types of install.  That helps a lot as well.  We do have MiCollab but I don't see a version 10 in service link yet for that device.

I have several MXeIII controllers and see in the service link page that newer versions are available to install.  I know I can call the company that manages them, but do I *need* them?  It seems like a pretty straight forward process - install to the inactive, set it as active and reboot.  Am I missing something?  The management company will charge me per controller and I have several, so just wondering if the charge is worth it vs doing it myself.

Any chance you're using Nupoint for voicemail?

I definitely don't have any entries like that.  I wonder if I'm more locked down than they say I am.

I don't see an ntpd/current log.  Is there a way to view it via a maintenance command?  It's not listed in the Server Manager logs.

Assuming I'm looking at the right log (e-smith/sync) I see a lot of entries much like the following:

800.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1674839945
801.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1674926346
802.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675012745
803.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675099145
804.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675185547
805.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675271945
806.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675358345
807.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675444745
808.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675531145
809.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675566268
810.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675617545
811.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675703944
812.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675790344
813.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675876745
814.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1675963145
815.0=sync|status|success|SyncTime|1676049544

If this is not the correct log, let me know which one I should be looking at

These are physical boxes and we had them on NTP initially.  When I was informed about the time issue, I took it off NTP and set the time and then put it back on NTP.  Within a week is was several minutes behind again.  So this past weekend, I rebooted them all and on this one in particular, manually set the time and left it that way.

Having an issue with one of my MXe-III controllers running 9.2 where the clock is lagging.  Over the past 2 weeks, I've reset the clock a few times.  This week I started to document the time differences.  I set it on Wednesday morning and it was about 2 seconds ahead of network time at that point.  24 hours later and it was already 20 seconds behind.  This morning, it was 50 seconds behind.  It was initially set to use our NTP server for time, but then it was showing 7 minutes behind despite the NTP server being spot on.  I've also tried syncing with nist.gov and even Google's public NTP server but had similar issues.  Any ideas what might be causing this?  I have a few other controllers doing similar but this specific controller is the most extreme.
