Hi, everyone.
I am new to this forum and to the administration of a Mitel system, so if this doesn't belong here, please point me in the right direction.
We are a mid-sized school district and we've had a ton of turnover in the phone sysadmin role. Unfortunately, that role has fallen to me now, IT Support Services, after rounds of cuts to our department. I am constantly handling tickets for numbers that cannot be dialed, and I can't find a solution.
We have roughly 860 local prefixes loaded in Mitel Connect Director. Every week, I receive a new number (or 7) that one of our schools can't dial. I check our prefix listing, and the number may or may not be there. If it is not there, I add the prefix and dial the number to test it. It almost never works. Instead, I must immediately delete the added prefix. Once I do, the number can be dialed.
If the number is there, I delete the prefix, re-add the prefix, then delete it again. The number can then be dialed.
I've attempted to speak with both Mitel and our telecom provider. Both of them point fingers at each other and it never goes anywhere. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I first thought that there could be some kind of accidental database limit set which prevents us from adding any more prefixes without deleting the same number of random ones, but I don't really know.
Any help you could offer or directions I could go would be much appreciated. Thanks.
