MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: edit notifcation for ACD voicemail
« on: December 23, 2021, 05:30:00 PM »
In  UI for Communication Service (aka Phone Manager Server)
Configuration > Applications > Group Messaging
Source is the Phantom Destination is an extension or an ACD

Yes it took  three hours poking around to find this.

what would have been great is a search tool, where you could search the programming database for any reference to an extension or other object and all the things that are forwarding to it, and what not.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / edit notifcation for ACD voicemail
« on: December 23, 2021, 02:17:58 PM »
I forgot where to edit forwarding notifications for a general use voice mailbox to another person's extension. specifically the VM light flashing on an extension when another mailbox has messages.

we want to change where these notifications are forwarded. I forgot the setting in database programming, and I think there was another setting in Phone Manager.

any assistance would be appreciated.

the recall destination was programmed as an application, itself n face. where is the value and interface for all this?

can you point me to the manual that details this in detail? thanks!

Mivoice Office 250 ACD question

where is the setting that controls how long an incoming call can sit in a hunt group before its forced to voicemail?

seems basic but I cannot find the answer in the manuals. callers are staying in the ACD waiting for 30 minutes just to complain to the agent that finally picks up.

5
I see this alot on 5320e phones in my location. I can adjust brightness and contrast to bring it back. I wonder if users are doing this, or its a bad setting in the screen saver setting.

ACD agent 219 is in hunt group 1603 only, but she is getting calls routed to her from hunt group 1610 which she is definitely not a member of.

what could cause this?

how to stop this?

the handset is remote connecting via MBG.

7
thanks for the help, the unit has Point to Point Tunneling Protocol turned on for Mitel support. PPTP uses port 1723 by default. it would be nice if that was explicit in the MBG documentation.

8
I am guessing:
1723 - Point to Point protocol - how licensing gets pushed to the appliance
3998 -  Switch Application Communications, for button programming
6801 and 6881-  real time streaming protocol for streaming audio

We use a MBG for remote handsets using MiNet.

A routine port scan from a consultant showed 7 ports responding: 80 and 443, 1723, 3998, 6801 and 6881

I need an explanation of why these are open, or I need to close them.

aside from 80 and 443, I cannot find either documentation explaining why the other four are open, or where they are set. the ports page on the Mitel Standard Linux/Network Port Ranges page does not list these. am I looking in the wrong place?

this also refers to other port values: http://micc.mitel.com/kb/KnowledgebaseArticle51887.aspx

thanks! we use a soft key to an application for voicemail, not either of the physical buttons on the 5320 handset.

using that with the caller on the line does the trick.

11
we use an Office 250 and we have a few general mailboxes for specific STAR applications. no handset associated with the extension. can you transfer an active call to a STAR voice mail box? We get errors when we attempt this.

thanks in advance!

12
we never use that feature intentionally. if this is activated, its accidental.

this definitively drives people crazy.

that weird thing where one handset says you have a message. but when you press the voicemail button it starts  ringing another person's handset.
and the only was to fix it is for someone to answer that call when its ringing.
and then the message goes away and the first handset can actual access its mailbox.
just posting this for the next time I need to fix that and I have forgotten. again.

acquired a small business with an old ShoreTel/Mitel on-prem PRI. callers complain about dead air, no pickups.
remote workers are using soft phones (Mitel Connect app with headsets) over a VPN.
can I see who is signed in?
can I see active calls?

UPDATE -  mac addresses were configured incorrectly on two phones in Management Studio > Admin > Recording Manager > Ports
Extensions had MAC addresses for each other.
Correcting that resolved the issue.
