What about just adding a SIP client to a cell phone?

Ralph

This won't be practical for our purposes. We have several stores and need basestations/cordless phones for our warehouses.

Maybe a 5613 if you don't need messaging.

This looks like a great option, however it is not listed in my "Device Type" listing on the 3300 user and service configuration. Maybe Generic SIP phone will work?
Though they also seem hard to come by.

Engenius makes a good SIP cordless phone...

Do you know if it will pair with a Mitel DECT SIP cradle?

edit: I mean Mitel DECT SIP Basestation

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Cordless phone options for 3300?
« on: March 11, 2024, 05:03:00 PM »
Release level: 7.2 SP1
Active software load: 13.2.1.25

It's becoming increasingly hard to find 5607 SIP phones for our system. Are there any other readily available options similar to the 5607 that would work with our 3300 pbx?

I don't want anything that requires a gateway like the 5610. We are using IPBS2-D3 as base stations.

This is something a lot of carriers are introducing as part of SHAKEN/STIR.  the [V] prefix on the calling party name indicates that the carrier is reasonably certain the call isn't a spam call.  I believe it indicates the number is [V]erified.

We had some issues with older Norstar PBXs not liking it, but the carriers are not able to suppress sending it as part of the name.

Interesting, this is great to know, thank you so much!

We are on 3300 SIP. A user reported and sent me a photo of calls that are suddenly coming in prefixed with a "[V]", then the location/name.

I have not seen this before and this just started showing up for her even though she has been in the same spot with the same phone for several years.

Any ideas?

Thanks!  8)

Awesome thanks guys!

It appears that changing the main extension's COS "call forward no answer" from 30 to 20 allowed it to hit the company vm.

A user has twinning setup, and when activated when calls go to voicemail, the voicemails attach to their personal cell phones instead of the company phone system.

I also have twinning setup the same way however the voicemails go to my company phone like they should.

I've checked that the User and Services Configuration, Voicemail config, and personal ring group configs are all the same for both of us (EHD enabled, class of service is the same, service profile is same, etc.)  so I'm at a loss for what else to check that might be causing the user to not get voicemails on his work phone when twinned.

Any ideas?

Thank you

I think this is a change that your carrier needs to make for you.
If you look at a packet capture you'll probably see the name is there so that means you're sending it.

Ralph

Thanks Ralph!
It looks like the capture does show the phone user's name and it also shows the default CPN (not the phone user's phone#). So I assume it uses the name of the default CPN.

We have SIP trunks on MiVoice Business 7.2 SP1 - 13.2.1.25

I just recently fixed our caller ID issue so that external calls now keep the originating caller ID when forwarding out to a user's twinned cell phone. To do this, I had to set both "Use P Asserted Identity" and "Use P Asserted Identity for Billing" to NO under the SIP Peer Profile > Signaling and Header Manipulation.

However, I want to go one step further and figure out if there is a solution for providing the name (or ext# if its the only option) of the caller who calls another extension and that call gets forwarded out to the user's cell phone.

For example: If  Bob @ 4400 calls Mary @ 5500, and Mary has 5500 twinned to her cell, I want Mary's cell to show "Bob" and either the default CPN or the DID of Bob. Currently it just shows the default CPN and Company name no matter who calls who internally.

I have seen a few similar questions.. (http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=9211.0 for example ) but have not found any answers that have worked for our set up.

Thank you for your time.

Just unplug the network cable from the 3300 controller... If you are remote, log into the switch and take down the port to the 3300 controller. Log into the secondary controller, you can see the phones status in the phone list in maintenance.

Problem is.. I don't have access to the switch either. Though I guess I may just need to get the network engineer involved in this testing  :P

Newbie question..  How would you go about safely testing resiliency after hours? Do you guys just do a simple reboot on the main 3300 and see how things fail over? Or maybe I need to run something that brings it down for a longer period of time to properly test... what other options are there if you have to do it fully remotely? I don't want to shut it off and not be able to bring it back up remotely!

I would check the help file under messaging/embedded/greeting/mailbox greetings for options

I am sorry I am not the most familiar with the options yet in the 3300. Are you referring to Voice Mail > System Greetings? Having a hard time finding anything related to System Greetings on a DND

The system treads DND as a busy condition and routed accordingly, the recording would be based on what the voicemail does with a busy treatment... In this case, we would need to know what voicemail system you have as their is likely a solution but the it vary significantly depending on if it is embedded voicemail, Nupoint (MiCollab voicemail), or something else.

I believe it's embedded voicemail in the 3300 PBX.
