MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: SIP Phone - Show Call ID of Transfers
« on: October 30, 2019, 12:18:59 PM »
Alright, thank you TE. It's just a Mitel 5624 so it probably doesn't have that ability but I'll check.

Appreciate it!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / SIP Phone - Show Call ID of Transfers
« on: October 30, 2019, 11:43:48 AM »
Hey all,

Does anyone know a way of showing caller ID after making a transfer? For example, you are in call with an external caller and they ask to be transferred to, let's say, human resources - human resources is x1212. 1212 is listed as "HR DESK" in MiVoice 250 database. "HR DESK" shows as caller ID when you make internal calls to x1212. Is there any way to get the same caller ID when making transfers on a wireless SIP phone - mostly for confirmation that you entered the correct extension for transfer?

Thanks in advance for any help!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5624 - Trasnfer Call - Hotkey?
« on: October 25, 2019, 01:09:05 PM »
Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone has used a Mitel 5624 phone with the device manager and was able to figure out how to create a hotkey for transferring calls while in a call. Typically, you would select "More" then "Transf. To A New Call" and press OK (then continue to enter ext and transfer). Is there a way to do this such as holding down "2" while in call to skip having to use the More menu?

Thanks for any help in advance!!

ajiziboc,

That would work and yes if you are no longer using the other Extension List then you need to delete it as a good programming practice. The only thing you have to make sure of is that anywhere that Extension List is used you replace it with the new one.

Thanks,

TE

Excellent! Thank you so much. One last question! Is there any easy way to find where certain lists are used in MiVoice 250? Or is it just a matter of drilling down and finding them manually?

I know this stuff seems trivial to you but I'm a network administrator and don't know much about phone systems (until I've had to learn recently!) so thank you! Very helpful.

ajiziboc,

Why can't you add a SIP Device to a Hunt Group Extension List?

Are you sure it is a Hunt Group Extension List and not some other kind of List?

SIP Devices should show up under Phones/Voice Process Application Lists and Hunt Group Extension Lists, but not any of the others.

Thanks,

TE

Gotcha! You just replied to my first post, but the time I posted this question I had somewhat figured out the replacement SIP phone needed to be in an extension list in order for it to ring simultaneously, because the previous Digital Telephone that was used was in an IP/Digital extension list added to main day ring for front desk, which is an extension list that is bounced to via call routing.

To revise my question, as I did some research, do I simply make a new Hunt Group Extension List with the new extension and front desk extension? Would this work? Also, should I delete the old one that has the replaced phone?

Thank you!!

ajiziboc,

If the call is directly ringing 1211 then it won't ring 1261.

Try this to prove it to yourself. Go to any phone on the same system and dial x1211; both phones should ring.

Then trace out the DID coming into the system that you are testing with and it is probably going to a Hunt Group. This means it is not directly ringing the phone, but alerting the phone that there is a call in the Hunt Group; those calls will not ring 1261.

Thanks,

TE

That makes perfect sense! Especially since the phone we replaced was a 'Digital Telephone' that was in an Extension List added to the Main Day ring which I'm guessing is how that one worked.
If I put both 1211 (front desk) and 1261 (new SIP phone) in a Hunt Group extension list and add it to Main Day ring do you think it will work? Can't add it to the former extension list because it doesn't allow SIP - it was an IP/Digital extension list.
Should I disable DEE if I'm doing it this way?

Thanks for your help! I see you reply/post quite a bit as I've been browsing this forum. Appreciate it!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Hunt Group Extension List - SIP?
« on: October 25, 2019, 02:58:32 AM »
If I can't add a SIP phone to a Hunt Group Extension List (Mitel 5624, for example) will I not be able to use this device to ring simultaneously with an extension (Mitel 53xx)?
Is there a way to add a SIP phone to a Hunt Group Ext List? It doesn't seem to give me an option unless I'm missing something.

Hello!

Recently puchased a Mitel 5624 SIP WIFI phone for our Mitel 5000 server. Have our front desk as Extension 1211, and added the Mitel 5624 extension (1261) in the Dynamic Extension Express profile for the user of the 1211, front desk. When calls are being made internally to the 1211 extension the 1261 extension rings simultaneously, but when external calls are being made to the 1211 extension using its phone number (xxx)xxx-xxxx, the 1261 extension does not ring simultaneously, only the front desk 1211 does.
Is there a certain setting in MiVoice 250 I have to set in order to get the 1261 extension to ring simultaneously no matter what type of call is being made to the 1211 extension?

Thanks!
