I want to set up a STAR to forward to a mobile phone out of hours. I had planned to just point it to a phantom extension that is forwarding, but the option to select a phantom is not available within the STAR. Is there an additional step required to achieve this?

Managed to get to the bottom of it - was caused by a Mitel Phone Manager presence profile being set to out of the office.

An extension on our system is going directly to voicemail. When looking at their user settings, under associated destinations it is showing their extension as not active. I'm not sure how this has happened or how to make it active again. Can anyone advise?

Thanks

At the moment when calls are forwarded from a phone or phantom to a mobile phone number, the caller ID that shows up on the mobile is the calling party number of the forwarding extension. Is there a way to make this forward the original caller ID to the mobile?

What I need is for an external number on our system to forward to a mobile phone, so to do that I've set up a phantom, forwarded that to the mobile number, and set the phantom to the ring-in destination in the call routing table. I believe this to be the best way but if there is a better way I'm interested in knowing that too.

I've just set up dynamic extension express for myself on our Mitel 250 system. I've got my regular desk phone and now a SIP DECT handset to use when I'm away from my desk. I've set the DECT phone up as 'Desk 2' in my associated destinations and set it as destination 2 in Dynamic Extension Express. This works when my main extension receives calls internally but not with calls received from external numbers.

Can anyone advise if it is possible to get this working with external calls too?

I've recently set up an automatic failover from our main leased line connection to a backup ADSL one. When this happens our public IP address changes, and our Mitel 250 system is immediately unable to connect outside calls. A reboot of the system seems to fix the connection and allow the calls to go through, but once the connection switches back to the main leased line and the IP changes again it just loses connection again and requires another reboot.

We are using SIP trunks for our external calls.

Does anyone know if it's possible to prevent this and ensure it works seamlessly?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Yealink SIP DECT Phone Do not Disturb Code
« on: September 30, 2020, 05:52:19 AM »
I've just go a Yealink W60B base station and W59R DECT phone. I've got it all connected to a SIP extension, and I can see there is configuration on the base station for a Do Not Disturb code. I've tried entering the feature code in here, but when activating DND on the handset and calling it from another extension it just says 'Call Cannot Be Completed' instead of the normal do not disturb message.

I've attached a screenshot of the base configuration.

Does anyone know which code needs to be entered to get this functioning correctly?

The Yealink W59R ruggedized handset is pretty durable. We use them on our hosted product with the W60B base.

I'll have a look into those too. I assume they're SIP too? I can't actually see any mention of SIP on any product pages or spec sheets.

Thanks, I expected they should work fine and licencing won't be an issue.

I know these don't seem to be particularly more durable, but they are considerable cheaper to replace if they do break :)

Also, if I had the Yealink base station next to the Mitel one, would it be likely to cause interference or should it be fine?

We've got a Mitel 5000 system, and some Mitel 112 SIP DECT cordless handsets that aren't durable enough for our environment. I'm looking at switching to the Yealink W52P SIP set, which as far I can tell should work absolutely fine with our Mitel 5000 system. However, I just wanted to check with someone a little more experienced then me that they'll work as expected before I buy them.

Am I right in thinking this will work fine?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Application Transfer to Extension
« on: April 07, 2020, 06:13:27 AM »
At the moment I've got a Call Routing Announcement application set up with digit translation so that callers can choose where to be directed. Whenever they choose a digit that forwards to a phantom it says 'please hold while your call is being transferred to extension XXXX'. It only seems to happen with phantoms forwarding to hunt groups and not with ones forwarding to external numbers.

I can't find the option or flag to disable this and have it transfer immediately. 'Voice Processor > Application-Related Information > Auto Attendant Information > Auto Attendant Transfer Prompt' is already set to No.

Is there a way to do this?

After some trial and error with the settings on the phone, I managed to fix the audio issue by disabling 'RTP Encryption'

So I've just got back into the office with the phone and the issue doesn't seem to be with calling externally, at least on the Snom phone. It seems that whenever the Snom phone is called it works fine, but if it calls another extension or external number then the static noise issues occur.
