Hello everyone.  We currently have two offices, a HQ with a EX and a branch office with a SMB. We have a EPL between the offices and failover setup so all the phones in the HQ have the EX as primary and the SMB as secondary and vice versa in the branch.  Well once of our departments moved into the branch location so 15 people took their phones to the branch and are working out of that office now but all their calls are still routing through the HQ over the connection between the offices wasting bandwidth.

Is there a easy way to "swap" the controllers in the phones config without me having to delete all the phones and recreate them?  I.e. right now in the phones config it says:

Home Element:  HQ EX Controller
Secondary Element:  Branch SMB

And I'd like to reverse that.

Thank you.  That was the part I was missing.  So now I have a Group Park going to 1998 and then I left the call retrieve also in case there are multiple calls parked and it seems to work well.

We just upgraded to a MiVoice system from a Office 250 and overall the transition has been smooth except for call parking.  On the old system people would just put a call on hold and tell someone to pick up their line which they did with 4+ext.  On the new system that doesn't work and I was told we would have to use Call Park + Retrieve.

So I setup a dummy extension, 1998, called "Call Parking" then setup buttons on my phone and a test phone called "Park Call" with the feature code "Call Park" and the extension 1998 then a second button called "Retrieve Call" with the feature code "Call Park - Retrieve".  This seems to work, I can take a call and press "Park Call" and it says "Parked@ 1998 @ 04".   I then from the test phone can do a "Retrieve Call" + 04 and pick it up (or # for longest parked works too).

Now is there a way to get any indication there is something parked?  All our phones are 6930w's but adding a DSS/Busy Lamp for 1998 doesn't do anything when a call is just parked (that I can tell).  Can the Retrieve Call button have a indication or should this be setup a different way?  If it matters all these users are in the same Ring Group.

(If there is a better way to do this I'm open to that also)

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Mitel TA7102 install scripts

EDIT: Is there anything else other then enabling SIP on the HX5000 that needs to be done?

Under SIP settings for each extension, you need to enable inbound / outbound authentication and set a password on the 5000 / office 250. You will need to set the same username (extension number) and password on the ATA.  I have a cheat sheet I could send you over tomorrow with all the settings I normally change on the ATA?

So I couldn't find anything per extension but I did find under System -> Devices and Feature Codes -> SIP Peers -> SIP Phone Groups -> (group number) -> Configuration -> Authentication a Inbound and Outbound user and password.  I put in the same username for both incoming and outgoing and the same password for both:

Then on the TA7102 under SIP -> Authentication its still set for Username but in the last two field I put in the same username and password (see attached...the extension is 1597 for testing)

Now its better but still not fully working:

If you have a cheat sheet I'd be happy to look at it....I feel I'm getting really close and just missing a step somewhere.

Got a step further.  Found a "TA7102i, Software Configuration Guide" PDF with a lot more information.  Under Sip -> Transport -> Protocol Configuration everything was disabled.  Enabled UDP and now instead of "Unreachable" I get "Authentication Failed" so now just have to figure that part out.  Its better at least.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel TA7102 install Issues
« on: December 17, 2018, 09:13:21 AM »
On the ATA under SIP Gateways I put in the Controller IP address on 3 lines.
I've tried hostname and IP address, neither seem to change anything.

I don't have access to a TA7102 right this second so difficult to point you in the right direction, however the first question that should be asked is why are you using an ATA?  The 5000 chassis has 4 x analogue extension ports on the back, are they already in use?

This is in a building across the parking lot.  We have fiber between them but only one building has the HX5000, the other is all IP phones.

If you changed that from a No to a Yes then you need to reboot the system before it will communicate on Port 5060.

So that was probably part of the issue.  I finally found time to reboot the HX5000 this past weekend.  However after doing so I don't see any changes, under Sip -> Registrations -> Endpoints Registration Status the status still says unreachable.

Since I did a bunch of testing before rebooting I went back through testing stuff again but still can't get it working.  I tried the suggestions in another related post (http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=9988) but didn't help.  Also made the changes per this port (http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=10029) for faxing but I'm not getting a dial-tone yet so no way to test.

I have both the install guide and setup guide....both aren't very helpful at this point (fine for plugging in and getting it on the network but bad for actually getting ports to work).

Thank-you so much for typing it all out like that.  I was missing the 5 before making the next call and now that I've added that it seems to be working exactly like your description.

8
I don't know if this is related but I know the PolyCom defaulted to a 600ms flash.  I changed that to 300 but it had no effect.  I also tried 75ms and 100ms but neither of those settings worked at all (didn't register it).

I changed the SL Hookflash Maximum from 12 to 20.  Not sure if this matters but instead of the timer symbol in front of the settings it had a cross out symbol.  But that didn't seem to help...still is disconnecting the second call (3rd party) when I click the flashhook button and get a dialtone.  I think hit 5 twice and it joins the first line.

9
No, I checked that and it is the default of 5.

I played with it for a hour yesterday afternoon and once, and only once, I was able to get a conference with the phone and two remotes (one external, one internal extension).  But I was unable to duplicate it.  I did hit 5 a couple times.

So the first caller "Ringing" seems normal since when I did a hookflash then 5 they rejoined the call and the ringing went away.  But I keep loosing that second (technically 3rd) party when I hit hookflash.  I have to be doing something wrong or the instructions just arn't working for our system.

10
Sp I'm 100% positive that once I hit the conference button (which displays Flash on the LCD) and switch to another dialtone the first callers line goes to a ringing.  Under Flags for the extension Alternate Hold Timer is set to No and under Timers and Limits the Hold is set to 90 and the Hold - Alternate is 300.  So that doesn't seem to be it.  So I went into the extension and change the "Audio for Calls" camped and  holding to tick tones and tried again.  No change...still ringing.  So its like when I hit the conference button (flash) its not putting the call on hold but more of call waiting and it just starts ringing.

So I press conference (flash, I dialed the second number, they answer, I press conference again then 5.  I get joined backed to the first call and the second call drops.  I tried this over and over and the second call just keeps dropping when I hit 5 to rejoin.

We were going to do the call from another phone but this location has some old 2 line digital phones which aren't very user friendly as it is.

Any other ideas?

So I cannot figure out the key combinations to make this work or what else to change.  I have a HX5000 and I'm trying to use a PolyCom SoundStation 2 analog phone.  It's plugged into the analog card on the HX.  It works fine for simple calling but does not work for conference calls.  I've had read a couple guides about it (https://community.polycom.com/t5/PSTN/FAQ-How-can-I-setup-a-conference-or-how-many-participants-can-be/td-p/4859, http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=3521.0) but they aren't helping.  From the second post above it says:

To place a conference call:
1. While on a call, perform a hookflash, and then dial 5.
2. Place another call, then hookflash and dial 5. (If necessary, repeat this step to place one more call on hold.)
3. Perform a hookflash, and then dial 5 again to join all of the calls together in the
conference.

But this doesn't work.  I make the first call then hit flash (conf button technically).  I place the second call but within 3 seconds the first call goes to a ringing trying to redial me.  I press flash again then *5 and now the first call is still trying to ring me and the second call is conferenced in.

Looking through the system I see a 3 second camp on timer so I'm assuming that's what the first call is doing but I don't know how to get around that.  What am I missing?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Mitel TA7102 install scripts

So I have been struggling with a TA1702 for a while now.  I'm a end user and although I can setup phones (digital and IP) and do any other maintenance we need I have never set one of these up.

I have a HX5000 which I went into and told it to enable SIP 5060.  I bought and activated two Cat F licenses.  I made a SIP phone group and added a username and password.  I got my TA7102 talking, added the HX5000 in.  Under SIP -> Gateways it says state = Ready so I figured that was good.  I added in authentication like in the above posts but under SIP -> Registrations it says status = unreachable.

I've downloaded a couple user guides but they haven't been very helpful to get this working and since I'm a end user I can't get the actual install guides from Mitel.  The goal is to eliminate two POTS lines used for fax machines that are costing $80 each per month so I really would like to get it working.  My Sip -> Authentication screen looks identical to ralph's above.  Is there anything else I can check?
