MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Mitel Dial by Name
« on: April 25, 2022, 05:07:01 PM »
Thanks, i thought the same which is why i fully deleted it and recreated it. So the mailbox and user are associated with the new greeting established. However, when i dial the auto-attendant it says invalid extension now.

Hi -

The DBN feature takes the spelling of the users name on the mailbox and plays the name recorded by the user on the box. In the original case, the box likely had the correct greeting but the name was the old user. In the current setup, you will need a mailbox for the user to have name and greeting associated with.

Is the extension the part of the same dial plan as the working extensions? Starts with 1 or 2, etc.

What's the topology?

Anything different between sites that are working and the site with troubles?

Do the MIVB logs show anything?

Might consider grabbing a capture to see what is going on.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Dial Through System
« on: April 21, 2022, 09:05:12 AM »
Hi All,

Have a complicated questions that I hope I can convey... I have a 5000 system that dials out using SIP trunks. Works great.

I have a different (non-mitel) system that is connected to this system with SIP as well and we are able to call extensions from each end no problem.

What i'd like to do is be able to dial out from the non-mitel system through the mitel systems trunks. Everything thus far has failed for us. On the non-mitel system if I dial the mitel's remote SIP trunk number I get nothing. Anything would be great.

Thanks!

Might look into DISA to accomplish this.

SIP On Mitel / Re: Mitel 5634 WiFi Phone Issue

Currently having a bit of an issue with setting up 5634 WiFi phones on a corporate WiFi network to connect to an external MBG. Basically the phone connects absolutely fine to the WiFi, picks up a DHCP lease absolutely no issues there but just wont connect to the MBG, screen showing "no access"

Taking this phone away from the corporate network, either on a hotspot or a home connection, the phone will work fine, which proves that there are no credential issues. Also if you setup a 5624 with exactly the same settings, this will connect fine on that WiFi network, it only seems to affect 5634's.

It sounds like you are stating this works offsite but not on the LAN. If so, it's likely DNS or routing on your LAN back into whatever you have assigned to the MBG.

I checked this out and this is the spot where to change it and it looks like it was already set up but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working.

What type of trunks do you have? Carrier likely isn't allowing you to update on your own or doesn't like the number you are out pulsing isn't valid to them.

Good suggestion. Have had to do this before for Konftel phones.

Just a guess - program another appearance of the phone's extension (multicall key) on each SIP phone.

Shoretel - MiVoice Connect / Re: Mitel Discontinuing Connect?

Based on some of the latest bulletins they are certainly going with a leaner portfolio. In North America at least I think you pretty much limited to the MiVB or host thing (RingCentral/MVP whatever they are going with)

Excellent. Thanks for the guidance. I've never used anything other than digital or IP - in my lab I just tested Hunt Group with success. Any functional differences between these group types to be aware of?

Simply create a new extension list that allows analog devices, such as Phone or Hunt Group Members.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / overhead ringer help
« on: March 16, 2022, 08:35:10 PM »
Hey folks - what have you done to accommodate overhead ringing? Would use an analog ringer from Valcom or Viking or even a SIP device but our incoming LS lines ring a hunt group with an extension list full of digital phones. You can't add these device types so I'm looking for some suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Give the browser SeaMonkey a try.

We have one customer who is on older software, MCD 7.1.9, and it works fine, but in the last month or so we cannot access the admin web page anymore, it just gives a security error and can't continue. Tried FireFox and the depreciated TLS fix, but it still won't work... Even with Internet Explorer it shows a similar error. System has been rebooted. Any idea how to access it short of using the software installer to upgrade it to the latest version of 8, meaning the customer would need to renew SWA, which they don't want to do because they are ripping it out and moving to their parent corporations hosted system towards the end of the year?

If smdr is enabled you could review the logs to see if it made or received any calls that were tracked.

I think it's logsys read smdr extension

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / paging inquiry
« on: January 06, 2022, 08:27:30 PM »
Have a branch cabinet CXII with a paging system providing dialtone and expecting dtmf digits to choose a zone connect to loop start port 1. From a set connected to the local cabinet I can dial the trunk access code plus the trunk ID and the dialtone is returned and I can pass dtmf and all is well. The issue lies with doing this from another MiVB in the cluster. I can dial the element ID plus trunk access code plus ID and the correct dial tone is returned but dtmf does not seem to pass.

Anyone have any thoughts? Is there something with COS on the the direct IP route between elements?
For what its worth - calls between extensions connected to each system seem to pass the dtmf to my ear when on a normal call.

« on: December 31, 2021, 06:49:58 PM »
Interested to see what the fix is. What version and build of Windows is on the laptop?

For some of our legacy PBX software over IP I just use virtual box with a known working image. Hasn't let me down yet.
The Mitel programmer here gives me a Access issue at times and repairing the install does the trick for me.

Interesting development for sure and I'll be curious to see how it plays out.
