This is something a lot of carriers are introducing as part of SHAKEN/STIR.  the [V] prefix on the calling party name indicates that the carrier is reasonably certain the call isn't a spam call.  I believe it indicates the number is [V]erified.

We had some issues with older Norstar PBXs not liking it, but the carriers are not able to suppress sending it as part of the name.

Hi All-

Bit of an odd situation with a customer that's stumping me.  System is an MXe-III running 8.0 SP3 PR2.

They're saying that when calling some but not all external numbers, they hear silence instead of ringback tone.  The carrier investigated and determined this was indeed occuring, but said that their switch couldn't be configured to solve the issue as it is obsolete and being replaced at some point in the future.  Total crap in my opinion, but nonetheless they won't budge.  They are saying we need to make our PBX provide the users ringback on all outbound calls.

The circuit is a pretty vanilla NI-2 PRI, central office switch is a DMS-100.  I'm at a loss with here to begin trying to configure our switch to handle this task.

Does anyone have any pointers or tricks to make this work?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Really confused with setting up COR
« on: December 08, 2017, 12:01:13 PM »
Hi Everyone-

New to this forum.  I've been working with MiVB for a couple years now, but haven't had to do much with COR and I'm in kind of a bind with a new installation.

This customer is purchasing a MiVB system, 3300 AX controller.  They are a senior living apartment complex that provides analog lines off the PBX to the apartments.

We've been asked for this installation to put in 4 POTS circuits to provide failover in the event the PRI goes down.  Management would like the residents to be able to dial 911, and also 800 numbers (life-alert pendants and such dial an 800 number to report an activation) in the event the PRI goes down.  They would also like the managers and offices in the complex who have IP phones to be able to dial 911, 800 numbers AND any other number.

I'm at a loss on how to configure this.  I can think of ways to restrict the use of a certain trunk facility outright, but not to allow some users to dial 911 and 1800, while others can dial 911, 800 and anything else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I want to make sure this works right, given the safety aspect of what needs to be accomplished.
