The COVID-19 situation seems to have renewed some interest in this tool. I haven't looked at it in a few years and then all of the sudden I got a couple of emails asking for full versions. Upon fulfilling those requests we found a couple of bugs and fixed them in 2.0.0.4:

Email / PM if you want a full license. Stay healthy everyone

Newest release 2.0.0.2 is here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B27N8eiMeYeQS3JRb2psT3pZSlk/view?usp=sharing

Changes:
Better PS-1 database detection (PS-1 support not added yet)
Better alerts if you open a database that doesn't have any Voice Processor data in it

Pending:
Adding a greeting instead of just replacing an existing one. Lots more to test before this can be added

I have a Windows app that can do this.  It does not work with a PS-1.

It looks like everyone has forgotten about it already

I know it’s Apple and oranges but Mitel 200 ICP and Mitel 3300 both have partitioned voicemails similar to Mitel 250...and you can add them all day long...plus you can add Nupoint Voicemail to 250 but still no Message Indicator Key.  We have lost sells because of that.

Release key was way overdue too and we replace lots of Norstar systems

The 200ICP and the 3300 use the exact same embedded VM platform, express messenger. That code also hasn't changed much in 30 years. They just ported it to work on the 3300.   But yes, can change the light destination to a single line and make a MWI to a single line, or change the light destination to a phone. This is made possible because he 200ICP and 3300 are true PBXs.  The 250 is closer to a key system.

Granted there are plenty of key systems out there they can do a MWI button.  I think we agree it would be a nice feature to have, but I doubt it will appear on the 250. Maybe a nice surprise one day

Why Why Why no MWi to a key? Boggles my mind to still not have Message Indicator Key on a modern phone system...but we did get a Release Key

Wouldn't that be nice?  I don't think that will ever happen on this system. The first and main reason is the Voice Processor. It's code hasn't changed hardly at all since the Axxess days. It is a separate entity from Call Processing.  It doesn't know any extensions unless there is a mailbox or an extension ID to tie it with.  To light a key would require a line appearance that voice processor could "light" under the message wait selection of a mailbox.  This ability is absent in voice processor since only a phantom or a physical device can be chosen here, so the correct MWI protocol (MiNET, etc) is used.  It cannot use any other form of MWI. Also defining an arbitrary single line appearance on a key, is absent in Call Processing, not being a true PBX but more of a hybrid key system.   Unfortunately other forms of MWI (analog, FSK, DC/AC) will also never appear in this system.

The release key takes me back to warm memories of working on Nortel systems.  Those are the only customers I ever met who understood the release key. Teaching it to console attendants for Mitel is always an adventure.

If anyone learned any lessons from 6.0 and 6.2, never run the initial releases anywhere except at the bench.  Fine to test it there, but don't let your customers "test" it.

Also, full backups before each upgrade.  Back in the pre-6.0 days you could be lazy about this, but not anymore.  You might find your DB default, corrupt, VM disconnected, or your chassis identifying as "CS Controller"  when it is really HX until you do a default DB.  I had this happen at a large site with 10 controllers. Each one needed special attention + Mitel tech support to get going again due to defects in the load they were at.  Never had that happen in the 5.x days and before

Hello-

I have a site that, when Dynamic ext is enabled, it rings the desk destination for about 1 ring or so, then it quits at the desk and continues on to the mobile destination.  They are programmed as the same routing step for 30 seconds, then the 2nd routing step is the Voice Processor voicemail.

If I change the set's Outgoing extension to a single loop start trunk, it rings correctly for the full duration.  If I change it to a Trunk Group with more than 1 trunk or ARS, it does not.   I cycled through all the available loop starts by putting one as the outgoing extension, and testing each one, and each trunk works by itself.   But not in a trunk group.   I know, loopstarts are not ideal for Dynamic extension.  But, they have enough trunks to pull it off.

I've never seen it before.  Software is 6.0 SP3 PR3

Not pleasant, but....it's just dnsmasq so I believe the conf file is in /usr/local/intl/etc/ or somewhere in there.  You could do nano dnsmasq.conf and put in your DNS servers.  It "should" / survive a reboot until a setting is changed in IP settings.

TE, I sent you a PM.

Alright guys, this is the most capable release yet.

Added Features:
Import audio to mailbox names
Import audio to mailbox primary greetings
Dump all mailbox audio to .wav files

The method to select the mailbox may not be permanent - but in testing it is the most reliable method so far.  Please advise me of any bugs found through PM.

Hi TE,

License keys can be provided via PM, email, or phone. Paid customers will always get phone support. If there is enough traction with the program I will develop a web portal for customers to manage their keys. I hate draconian licensing so this program has simple licensing that presumes innocence rather than guilt.  Licenses can be sold directly to the customer so the Mitel dealers can make some cash. Customers can contact me directly with issues.

Scripting is nice, but I wanted something that techs of all skill levels could use, could inform the controller of the proper file lengths, handle silence padding, mix and match whichever codec they wanted, and finally import directly to mailbox name recordings ( this will released shortly). Also I wanted other tech's opinions so I could improve the software thru updates.

True on 6.2 you can import .wav to audiotex, but not to a mailbox. This is why I am adding mailbox import and export, to provide something even for 6.2 users.   Expect the new mailbox import export feature shortly. Thanks for downloading!

New software release-
Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B27N8eiMeYeQX25rSi1Jb3J2R00/view?usp=sharing

Features
Added full support for G726 (32Kbps)  (this setting is under Voice Processor  -> UVM codec. You can mix and match file types without changing this setting on the Controller. G726 sounds much crisper but uses a bit more space (about 4x as much)

Added support for controller- allowed maximum greeting length, up to 15 minutes per file

Better support for pre-6.0 systems that can only do a backup type "Database to PC and voice data elsewhere"

Added diagnostic logging  (Maintenance -> log)

Added online update (Maintenance -> check for updates) for painless software updates

Many thanks to all who helped test, suggest features, and assisted me to develop this enough for use in serious environments. PM me with requests

Potential new feature: import audio files into mailbox greetings, not just audiotex.   This was suggested to me by another tech, I'm glad they did because I hadn't thought of that.  I'm developing that now.

Also, dump all/selected messages to PC. Sometimes a RAC gets too long and cannot be emailed or forwarded.

I doubt Mitel will ever attempt to re-brand ShoreTel sets or add ShoreTel handset support the MiVO 250.  The overall look, design philosophy, and call control protocol is 100% foreign. It's a monstrous amount of work just in programming alone, especially due to proprietary call control.  If Mitel put any effort in, they would add MiNET support to ShoreTel systems, which an even greater monumental task, and would make little sense. The teams would have to go over the code and learn the programming habits of ShoreTel for the past 20 years and attempt to add a completely new concept.

They did pull this off with the Intl 5000 because they hired basically the entire Inter-Tel dev team.  This same team by the way is essentially developing the 3300 code and a lot of the old timers are now retired or gone.

The MiVO 250 added a price point and market segment that Mitel couldn't touch before.  If ShoreTel has such a segment, perhaps there will be development interest, otherwise I'm with ace on this one, support for a while, then migration path.

For any of you that have customers with CS chassis or ones that simply don't want to keep SWA current to get 6.2,  but do want to import .wav files into audiotext recordings,  I have written a windows app that accomplishes this automatically.  PM me if interested.
