The contacct is also an external number and it just so happens that the external number I type into the make call box, has the same last 4 digits than the contact that also contains an external number.

No extensions involved in this case.

MiCollab client is 7.3.
MiCollab is AD integrated and we bring in many contacts from AD.

When a user types a mobile number in the make call window, MiCollab matches the number to a contact even though the contact's number is something different. It seems to match only the last few digits of the mobile number and then pops up with the contact.
The issue is if the contact is displayed after typing in the number and you press enter or call, it will dial the contact instead of the number entered.
Only way to get around it is to click elsewhere on the desktop so the contact dissapears and then it will dial the number as it was entered into the make call window. It still show the contact's name in the call control window but at least it dialled the correct number. It is annoying to say the least...

I cannot upgrade to the next Gen PC client yet.
Anyone else experienced this before and got a better workaround?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / DND does not work for SIP trunk calls
« on: February 14, 2019, 12:03:06 PM »
I'm unable to get DND to work for SIP trunk calls to an ACD station. I've tried the setting in system options form not NOT allow override but I guess the SIP trunk does not fall in the "supported" trunk type category.
Anyone got this working somewhere perhaps.

How/where to check which network element a resilient device is active on? In other words, how to check if a device has failed over and failed back to it's resilient pair.

I thought the locate feature maintenance command showed this with the * next to the network element but I think I might be wrong in that the * shows only what the device's primary network element is.

Tnx

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Where to find CCS trace logfile

I haven't done this in probably 10 odd years - where do I find the CCS trace command logfile.
Thank you

I have 2 Android phones setup as SIP using the Bria Android App.

I"m trying to figure out how to get them to monitor and direct to the same voice mail.

Using a ring group people ext 6746 which causes 6745 and 6744 to ring simultaneously
If a voice mail is left it resides on ext 6744 VM, Bria monitors and dials into our VM server using 5481

This works as intended for the 6744 phone however for the 6745 phone I need to find a way to  have
it refer to 6744's VM Box. In the Bria app the only information required is the VM server, so just 5481.
However when I use this for the 6745 phone I get the server but have to specify my VM extension,
this method also does not monitor if VM are available on VM 6744.

TLDR: I need to attach multiple extensions to the same VM and don't have the option of just setting up
a message waiting indicator.

What voicemail are you using and what is your mailbox number?

Why don't you just dial into the mailbox and delete it?
Normally mailbox 0 will have no ext assigned, if you do assign one temporarily you could get in and delete the voicemails.

In the end we continued retiring equipment and stopped paying SWA for these only. I still get an email from the AMC asking me to renew the SWAs, I must figure out how to destroy ARIDs and transfer the licenses.

We might lose the customer eventually but we'll be there for a few more years, we're finally upgrading from MCD 6 to MiVB 8 in a month.

Also the customer is a sister company so if they move on from Mitel we'll move with them and go for Skype or whatever.

Ask the AMC to retire those ARID's you don't want. Also remember that all you'll be saving on SWA is the base package and that is normally minimal in any event. If you have more licenses than users, you could retire those and not pay SWA but that is extreme considering SWA per user is tiny.

I guess this is Mitel phasing out ISDN as well as you have to purchase a new server for that (unless i am reading it wrong?)

Not at all. MXeIII and CX(i)II are still supported provided they have correct HDD sizes and 1GB Memory module. These are FRU.
The EX (new controller) will also have support for ISDN and FXS and FXO - hardly dying ;)

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: NIC bonding in MSL config
« on: September 18, 2018, 10:34:50 AM »
Yes it's redundancy on top of redundancy, but well the client is king. There is a big single point of failure in the form of a single MBG but he doesn't want to pay for a second one !

I will stay with the default parameters, if something else is not documented I'd rather not do it. I tested the functionality and it works fine.

The NIC bonding is at MSL level so it will be based on what is available on Linux. From memory I think the bonding is for throughput NOT resiliency but needs to be confirmed. I'm going back 6 plus years since I last used it.

I've got a 3300 that we use for public safety and they upgraded their call recorder called Higher Ground. The call recorder is now using SRC instead of an analog tap. We mirrored the port for the controller to the four ports used by their servers and so far we're getting all calls that are external. However, calls between extensions are not being recorded. We had an old version of Oaisys that was setup this way and the internal calls were recorded, but I'm not sure if that was a specific option in Oaisys or if it was a setting in the controller. Any ideas of what I need to check to make sure the controller is setup correctly?

The idea with SRC is that you don't have to mirror ports. It could be that your MBG (SRC) is configured to do local streaming in which case the audio will not traverse the system therefore no recordings. Double check that you're phones are actually pointing to the SRC server instead of MiVB.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Decrypting MiCC licensing
« on: February 19, 2018, 07:56:53 AM »
I did what I should have done before posting...created a test user and assigned them a Supervisor license and indeed it decrements when they're created, so named not concurrent.

There are not 12 Supervisor Desktops listed on System Information in YSE, only 6. There are not 6 of anything else.

MiCC 8 converted your licenses to concurrent viz. gave you 3x times your agent licenses. However your SWA would have jumped cause you are also entitled to free bundled parts. If you opt out of that, you go back to named licensing. Opting out is ONLY available for upgrades. You also can't go back to named once you have switched, but you can go to bundles (concurrent) at a later stage

As for supervisor licenses - if you are referring to admin licenses then I'm not sure. I've seen this too where after upgrading those licenses are increased by a lot. It is not meant to increase since those are NOT covered by concurrency in my opinion (I stand corrected though)

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Whisper Announcement
« on: February 19, 2018, 07:45:09 AM »
slightly confused. You say it used to work but not anymore - you then ask is this a feature?

Can only assume you are fact checking that the feature actually exists since someone said it worked that way. In that case, yes it does and is called whisper announcement.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Updating MiCollab Client for Windows
« on: February 19, 2018, 07:41:54 AM »
The macOS client which is freely downloadable from the Apple App Store claims to work with server version 7.1 and later. The Windows client is probably the same and using the latest version is always a best practice where you have issues with some old version. Now my question is where to get the latest Windows client so I can test it. A repo of clients per version would be awesome.

The MAC client is a totally different client in look/feel/use etc. The next gen PC client (same as MAC) is available as of MiCollab 8. The general theory is you can use an older client with a newer server but not the other way around.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Hot Desk ACD can't logout during call
« on: February 19, 2018, 07:38:50 AM »
You cannot log them out in anyway while on a call. Yes best to use Make Busy or even group presence removal.
Now as for queued calls before they go in make busy, I don't actually know.

In theory the calls will stayed queued unless you mark your agent group to NOT queue calls when no agents are available. Again, even with that configured to NOT queue calls, I'm not sure what will happen to calls that are already queued.

You could off course have an interflow timer. Once the timer expires, you can send the call where you like. You could also use queue schedule to open and close queues in addition to agents removing themselves.

***EDIT*** I assume you are using MiCC.
