With hackers getting more and more aggressive. How are you locking down your systems to prevent this?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Message Waiting Light
« on: October 05, 2018, 11:03:02 AM »
Does anyone know if the message waiting light can be turned off per phone.

We have a customer that has one 5320 phone that when a call comes in, the light does not flash. When put in DND the light does light up, so I know it works. They do not have a problem with any of their other phone.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Voicemail to Email
« on: November 22, 2016, 02:09:29 PM »
We have a customer that uses Penn TeleData for their email. When trying to get SMTP server information from Penn TeleData, they pretty much told me that we would have to use our SMTP server or get an email through them. So I went ahead and entered our email server. Knowing that when we used a MiVoice Office 250 it worked fine. I set up everything the same as we had it on our 250 and it still wont work. Unfortunately we switched to a 3300, so I can no longer test it on our pbx. So tried everything I could think of to getting it to work. I did everything from using ports 25, 2525, 587 with smtp.us.exg... for the smtp server. Ping the SMTP servers. I'm at a lost as to why it's not working. Attached is the setup and the log files:

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Callbox Question
« on: October 18, 2016, 12:43:41 PM »
We have a customer who has a Callbox on a gate. The way it worked on their old system is, they pushed the button and it rang 5 extensions. When someone picked up they could talk back and forth. The button is a single line. Does anyone know if on the 250 there is a way to have a SL call a hunt group as soon as it goes off hook?

There is no other equipment for the callbox, so it was definitely through their old Cisco system.

Is someone calling their extension or being transferred to it? If transferred, I like to put a voicemail button on the phones of the people who transfer the most. That way if they want a persons voicemail all you do is hit the voicemail button, it'll ask for the extension, then just hang up and it'll transfer it directly to their voicemail.

Check if the flag for Automatic Answer IC is marked as YES. It's in the same spot as handsfree.  :)

I believe I found what caused it to be root@ When this was setup they left the Administrator E-mail Address and E-mail Address empty. I believe from that it defaulted to root@

I also found out they switched to Office 365. I believe I finally got it up and running. Thanks for your help!

It sounds like you have Handsfree turned on. To turn off, go to System > Device and Feature Codes > Phones > the extension > Flags > turn Handsfree On/Off to no

You'll have to do that for each extension.

Suavie,

Alright, let's start at the beginning and end at the end as they say.

Are you using the built-in Voice Processor or the NuPoint Voice Mail system?

If you are using the built-in Voice Processor or the BUVM system then look in the following location.

Go to System > E-Mail Gateway > E-Mail Address: Is this set for Root@?

This is where all the E-Mail Synchronization programming happens for the Voice Processor when using Forward and Copy; I know it is an odd place, but it makes sense if you understand how they did it.

Anyway, verify that all the information here is correct to your knowledge.

Next go to System > IP Settings

Look at the following Fields: Base Server Name, Domain Name, DNS Search List. Make sure these are all correct to your knowledge. Also if any of them say root then let us know.

Thanks,

TE

They're using the built in Voice Processor.

For the email address under E-mail Gateway, it is not root@K*******. It's voicemail@K*******.

As for the IP settings:

Base Server is X out
Domain name is blank
DNS search is inter-tel.com

I am not the one who set this system up, so as far as I know, that's correct.

No, I'm not even sure where root@ came from.

They're setup as Forward and Copy

Can you press code 399, then do 396 and see if it is there. If its not there press 399 again.

399 is a feature code that switches keymaps. It's a possibility that the keymap got switched by accident.
