Mitel Software Applications / Re: Oaisys Questions

Yes I have 20. Four of which. I don't even have enabled. Are the licenses concurrent? I mean there are never 16 people on the phone at the same time for sure.

Mitel Software Applications / Oaisys Questions
« on: January 26, 2016, 12:50:22 PM »
I have a couple of questions. I have an older topic here that night give some background. First question is, Is it as logical as it looks in management studio, as to who initiated a call? I am asking because I am trying to track down a problem with Oaisys recording being sporadic. I have extensions that will be involved in a call and get recorded and then that same extension 20 minutes later involved in another call and doesn't get recorded. I am trying to find any differences in these calls. It just makes no sense to me at this point.

Yes I was able to do the PAC and see which mode. I had found that part of it. I just thought that there was a way to dial into the PBX from outside the offices and send the command to the PBX. If that is not the case, that is fine. I was looking to verify that.

I am not sure what ESM stands for and therefore not sure what that is. I apologize for the ignorance. This just kind of fell into my lap and I am learning as I go until I can get some formal training in here. I am also not sure what a DISA line is. Again, sorry for the ignorance.

I will have to look and see what tenants are outlined on my system. Not exactly sure what that is either but, I think I have an idea of how that works.

Thank you to everyone that has answered. It is really appreciated!!

Thank you. Can that be done by dialing any number into the PBX. In other words, if I have 5 outside numbers which all go into the PBX, I can dial either of those and then enter the feature code to activate/deactivate the night service?

Also, are there two separate codes for activate/deactivate or is the one code just a toggle? Where do I find the full configuration for the night service in the controller? I just want to educate myself on it.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Night Service
« on: January 25, 2016, 11:53:02 AM »
Hello All, I am new administrator so any and all help will be greatly appreciated. We currently have our phone system on a schedule for night service. There have been a couple of occasions where I needed to put the phones in night mode remotely at a time other than the schedule time. At one time, I thought that our system here was set up so that we could dial in and enter a code and set the phones to night mode. However, I was not the administrator at that time , so I am just trying to dig it up. So, I was wondering a couple of things? Number one, can it be done like that? Secondly, if so, where do I find the configuration for that feature. This is a 3300. Thank you in advance for you assistance.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: New Admin 3300 Oaisys Issues

So let's say, hypothetically of course lol,  that the powers that be here will not provide the budget to employ those particular enhancements. Let's just say...... is there another method for doing that. Could a third NIC be installed in the Oaisys controller and have the phone vlan mirrored to that card and catch that kind of traffic. Or should I have my voice vlan mirrored to the Oaisys box instead of the controllers NIC? Anything from the controller should still be seen if the VLAN is mirrored. Correct assumption? Or is there signaling that the Oaisys box needs to see directly fro mthe controllers NIC?

Also is there any reason that you can think of that that external calls, both inbound and outbound would be recorded sporadically? This is something that recently started happening and we do not know why. So far our contractor has been zero help. They just escalated to Mitel and we still know nothing.

Mitel Software Applications / New Admin 3300 Oaisys Issues
« on: December 11, 2015, 11:05:23 AM »
I am a new phone admin for a Mitel 3300 system which utilizes Oaisys call recording. I am having some issues with sporadic recording of internal calls (which is a new problem) and no recording of internal calls which has never worked. We currently have a very bad phone support company and cannot get responses from them in a timely manner. Therefore, I am trying to train myself and my co-worker to manage this system ourselves. It seems that the call recording is done by mirroring the switch port of the controller over to the switch port of the call recorder. (in our instance anyway). Other than that, it seems to me that decisions to record or not record should be made entirely in the Oaisys server (application, system). Is that a correct assumption? Forgive me for any ignorance as I am a network guy and not a phone guy (yet). I know there is also a server running call xpress and I understand that it manages the way calls are directed but don't know if it has anything to do with recording decisions. If I ask questions about names of apps, parts, etc that most of you know, I apologize in advance. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
