It might have something to do with our setup maybe.  The calls come in PRI (on a fiber connection) to the Mitel 5000.  The system is setup with Hunt Groups that ring the extension number.  The caller ID information is show from outside callers if they have caller ID name and number, otherwise it will display the number only.  If I put the phone number in our phone system to identify the caller it just shows the phone number but no name

I think he means if you put an outside CID number in the system speed dial directory with a name, when that number comes in it will over-ride the caller ID information with the name in the system speed dial entry. We use it to identify all our company's cell phone users, otherwise they just come in as "CELL PHONE, MN" or "UNAVAILABLE" for the name.

Yes, this is what I'm trying to do. Where can I enter the number?

So I've added the number to System Speed Dial, but the system doesn't display the name. I've tried (area code) xxx-xxxx, 1(area code) xxx-xxxx, without area code since its a local number xxx-xxxx, and also tried adding the number the way the system shows the missed number 82000(area code) xxx-xxxx, but the name still doesn't appear on the caller ID.  Anything I'm missing?

I'm trying to add phone numbers to the Mitel Outside Caller Directory but I don't know where to access it.  The company that managed our system closed down and I had to take over the maintenance of the system.  Anyone that can point me in the right direction?  We have several remote users and I want to program their phone numbers in the Global Directory so when they call in, everyone know its them and the ID/Name shows up of who's calling.

So the phone mirror shouldn't be an issue?  Yes, under System - IP-Related Information - Call Configurations - 2 the remote ext is using the default settings Audio Frames/IP Packets 3 and Minimum Playback Time 80. Rest of the settings are:

Audio Diag Sampling Period 5
Audio Diag Samplings 12
Audio Frames/Ip Packets 3
Average in Time Frame % Treshold 60
Average in Time Frame Timer 5
Minimum Playback Time 80
Transmit DTMF Level NA -9 - 7
DTMF Encoding G.729
Supports RTP Redirect Yes

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Bad audio / choppy calls remote 5330e user
« on: December 20, 2016, 11:53:54 AM »
We have a Mitel 5000 setup with one remote user.  The phone connected to a small 8-port POE switch, is using Call Configuration 2 for remote user with G.729, its set to NAT, its connected remotely and can make receive calls with no issues but the calls lose audio/are choppy when they're on the phone.  The remote users has a 100/10 cable connection.  I had the 5330e connected directly to the UBEE cable modem/router from the internet provider and it kept disconnecting and the user reported Insufficient Bandwidth listed on the phone. I had them move the cat5 from the UBEE mode to a Netgear AC1900 router that I setup for them and he said the Insufficient Bandwidth message went away but they're still having choppy calls.  Anyone have an idea of what it could possibly be?

I do have the phone setup as mirror of his main phone.  The main ext 5011 is in our main branch, when the main ext 5011 rings his home office ext 5060 also rings and he's able to pickup the calls.  I'm not sure if this would cause an issue with the choppy calls.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: All circuits are busy

Sorry, I didn't setup the phone system and just learning as I go since it was kind of dropped on me.  The company that setup the phone system closed their doors just last week so I don't really have much support.  What would be the purpose of monitoring the B channels?  How would this help?  I have the advance monitoring system active, where would I check?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / All circuits are busy

Our phone system WAS configured this way: Hunt Groups - Members - extension number and phantom extension and Voice Mail.  With this setup we were not able to see the caller ID on the 2nd line if the user was on a call.

So what our phone people did was change it to: Hunt Groups - IP Digital/Telephone extension (which contains extension number and phantom) - Voice Mail.

The system is working fine with caller ID showing up on the 2nd (phantom) extension when the user is on a call, but now there are several clients reporting that they cant get through to our phone lines.  They're telling us that they sometimes hear a message saying 'All circuits are busy' when they call either our main line or any direct number.

We have a PRI with 23 trunks and we didn't have a problem up until we moved to the 2nd setup.

I'm having this same issue, can someone point me in the right direction?  Logs say that messages are coming from root@domainname - Where would I find the Administrator without email? Under users?  I have 3 users listed there and I added an email address to all 3 users but I still get the root@domainname sending emails on my logs.

Yes, each phone has one direct line with a phantom to have 2 lines

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000 & caller ID in hunt groups
« on: December 18, 2015, 05:05:07 PM »
We currently have hunt groups setup for our phone system.  When a call comes in it displays the caller ID on Call Key 1, but if that person is on the line, and a second call comes in, it goes to the phantom and does not display the caller ID for the second line.

Is there a way to display the caller ID when the person is on the line and a second call comes in?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000, VLAN, NetVanta and 5320 phones

Could anyone help me with a setup for a Windows environment. The phone vendor that we have doesn't know how to setup the Windows side of the configuration nor the VLans for the switches and I found out after we purchased all the equipment.

Here's our configuration:
Router Sonicwall NSA 240 that has a 192.168.1.0/24 network on X0. I setup a sub-interface on the X0 as VLan10 on the 10.10.10.0/24 network.

Phone vendor sold us a NetVanta 1638p layer 3 switch. The switch has the default VLAN and up 192.168.1.2 address. There's also Vlan10 setup with address 10.10.10.2.  The ports on the switch are set to trunk. Also under each port there is an option to set the VLAN application so I selected voice VLAN 10 and it adds CoS 5 DSCP 46 automatically.  I'm having our Sonicwall do the routing for the networks so routing is not enabled on the switch.

We have a 2008 R2 Windows server and followed the instructions from http://www.unixwiz.net/techtips/mitel-ipphone-networking.html to setup a scope on the 10.10.10.0 network for dhcp. The string I used was
id:ipphone.mitel.com;sw_tftp=10.10.10.253;call_srv=10.10.10.253;vlan=10;l2p=6;dscp=56

The Mitel 5000 has the IP 10.10.10.253 address and on the switch it's setup on a non-trunk port VLan10

I'm able to ping from the 192.168.1.0 network to the 10.10.10.0 network. I can ping the Mitel 5000 with an IP of 192.x.x.x

I put a Mitel 5320 phone on one of the trunk ports and it boots up, displays VLAN 10 then it searches for an IP and displays using option 43:43 but never picks up an ip from the dhcp server.

Is there anything else I need to configure on the win08 server, the switch or the router for the phone to pick up an ip?
