Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Delete Trunk Group and Analog trunks
« on: October 08, 2015, 05:07:01 PM »
Figured it might be easier to make another topic instead of continuing on my PRI thread...but...

PBX - Mitel 3300 Mxe

We're getting a constant alarm that one trunk is down - we had a trunk group with 4 analog trunks configured that we never used, so I'm trying to kill the entire trunk group off but it will not let me delete the last member nor will it let me delete the trunk group. I made sure all trunks/groups were out of all ARS routes/lists and was able to delete all but this one trunk. What am I missing?

In addition, why would the alarm show 8 trunks and 1 down, when we only have 2 trunks (1 e&m for MOH and the 1 analog).

1-2 other things to check on the new switches - check for loops as well as pre-set the speed/duplex of the ports going to the 3300's. Sometimes they switches don't auto-detect properly and cause random issues.

Back on this again...tied up loose ends with my sip redundancy today and really want to get this damn error to go away. I went into trunk group 1 (analog ports) and deleted all but one member - it won't let me delete the last. In doing some research I poked around and made sure any ARS routes pointing to trunk group 1 are gone, all members of trunk group 1 were man busied, yet I can't delete either that last member or the group itself. In addition - the system STILL SHOWS 8 friggin trunks (since my last post I added a second SIP peer).

I meant the MBG. After some this and that with the carrier, everything is finally up and running with each MBG dedicated to a connection and both inbound and outbound failover. Sweet!

Hey if you dont mind - i'm working with the exact same setup (and may be able to verify your findings if I can get mine fully working here). How do you specify the backup (MBG2) in ARS? Do I need to have two seperate SIP peer profiles, one for each MBG?

Here's a really loaded question: Has anyone tried to integrate presence from Office365/Skype for Business (aka Lync online) into the IP5550 console? We're starting to outgrow our building so some workers are becoming teleworkers, and we do use Office365 (and eventually Office2013).

Just curious - it appears it could be done and that it normally could connect to Lync (on prem).

Neat idea but I don't think so.

There ~might~ be an option with a screen saver via the HTML tool kit but I'm not sure it would be worth the effort.

I like the way you think! But yeah it may be more work than it's worth. I did the usual IT method of slapping an ugly white label to the hot-desk-only phones ;-)

Thanks to a post on here, I found out about the ip-device-only mode which saved me a bunch of licensing. That said when the phones are logged out, there is only a "Locked" message at the top of the screen.

Is there any way to put up a custom message on the phone about having to log in to use it?

For what it's worth - it worked great at the office on a Cisco access point, but acted a little wierd getting DHCP from a user's home router, but all in all, so far so good.

Now if anyone can tell me where to get the latest firmware, that would be appreciated!

Nevermind, I found it! Got it working (we'll see how it works).

FYI - For future reference I found it here:

Does anyone have the instructions for the WLAN stands? I picked up two of these to try out and need to know how to program the wifi settings into them.

Found a "1 Port E&M Trunk" @ Trunk 25. Assuming this is needed for internal purposes?

Added all up I guess that amounts to 8 - 4 ONS, 1 SIP, 2 PRI and 1 E&M. I'm thinking the switch just needs a reboot.

You will have to delete them from digital trunks before you can turn off the t1 module.

You have got the routes done, trunk group, trunk, network sync will have values. You may need to man busy the trunks to be able to delete them

Deleted the trunks themselves, cleaned them out of the trunk groups, deleted network sync records, and now deleted the two ports under digital links, and I think that got rid of the DSU alarm. Still showing 8 trunks and I'm trying to figure out where its getting 8 from.

I see 6 ONS ports, 4 of which are configured (and unused). I have one sip peer profile configured (total 5 trunks).

Im also getting DSU MSG LINK alarm as well - do I have to delete the T1 interface, or disable them somehow?

Ok, got it all done (took backup of entire system first, as well as exported configs for everything I deleted incase its ever needed again).

Now I'm still getting alarms - specifically its saying there's 8 trunks and 50% (4) are unavailable. At this point, I dig through all the trunk screens and everything is cleared except for the 4 analogs (which I understand is what's triggering the alarm), but where's the other 4 coming from? We have one SIP peer profile configured.
