Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: 911 and Long Distance
« on: July 25, 2017, 11:11:23 AM »
Thanks all for the information!

Just one clarification request, is it possible to remove the need to dial '9' to get an outside line?

If it is Im imagining it is a fair amount of work to reconfigure extensions, etc.

Thanks!

L.

Indeed I do see them (screen cap attached)

So I assume all I have to do is add the 911* and point it to an unused extension (maybe with a message saying "YOU DIALED 911")

If I understand correctly dialing 911 plus any other digits will be forwarded to this, but if someone JUST dials 911 or 9911 without more digits they call WILL go to emergency services 911?

Thanks again for the help.

Luis

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 911 and Long Distance

Hi,

Full disclosure, I am NOT a telephony guy, I am a tech support guy who is in charge of the phones (Mitel 3300) so be gentle with the n00b :)

Issue:

Users dial 9 to get an external line for local or long distance calls. I've had a few people dial 9-11 by mistake to make an overseas call...which is not what they intended.

I've been asked to either remove 9 as a leading digit or change to 8.

I'd prefer people pay attention to how they dial but watchagonnado

Question: is it possible to disable 9 for dialing out for local or long distance? If so, is it an involved process?

Or, is there a better way to handle this situation?

Any help is appreciated

Luis

Thanks for the reply.

We use NuPoint for voice messaging...is that just an extra call routing?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks X-MAN,

Tried this:

But didn't quite work.

So I reverted back to 9101YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and it worked.

Not sure what else needs to be done, but for now, I'm just using the dial-around for troubleshooting.

Thanks!

Did you call me an ARS?

Just kidding :)

Does this look correct?

Do I have to do anything else?

Yes, the "Dial Around" number here in Canada lets me dial 101 then another long distance providers CIC code to use them instead of my existing LD provider...without having to change providers.

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Outbound "Dial-Around"

Hola,

Trying to "dial-around" our long distance provider (I can't call Ukraine cellphones and they swear they aren't blocking).

But our Mitel PBX is setup to not let me do that.

Sorry, I'm a green PBX admin so not sure where to go to let me dial 10 10  after the initial 9 to use another long distance provider.

Any help is appreciated.

Ok, figured it all out

went with Minet and not SIP

the phone wasn't working as it was already registered in the communications director under someone else (never de-provisioned) so the MAC address was in use.

I removed the entry and moved the MAC to the new user/device along with the settings for speed dial keys, etc. and up the phone came!

The pbx stuff is kinda fun.

Ok, I'm in.

The phone is in SIP mode
and the default login/pass were admin/5320e

Forgot to mention that when I put the phone in SIP mode and try the IP in a browser, it does respond, but the default login/password (as per the mitel docs -> http://edocs.mitel.com/UG/EN/5320_SIP_UG_en_CA_6.0.pdf) don't work.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5320e IP Phone - Web Configuration
« on: January 21, 2015, 10:13:04 AM »
Hi all,

I have a Mitel 5320e IP Phone set and I'd like to configure it via the web interface.

However, it doesn't respond unless I switch it from Minet phone mode to SIP. If I set the phone to SIP the phone can't dial out and I get "No Proxy Configured" error on the set. In Minet phone mode I can dial out without any error, but no web configuration at the network IP (?)

Disclaimer, I am very new to the PBX world so if there is a manual somewhere that I can reference, please feel free to point me that way.  ;)

So, any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Luis

Followed Wobbly Head's instructions to the letter and it worked!

Only thing is I never get the "Access Denied" on the set but I do get the fast busy when the TF is called.

Thanks everyone I really appreciate all the support....I suspect I'll post soon about something else ;)
