old thread but ill reply..
for 200s i have used hexedit pro to gain access to systems where the previous service provider refused to give up the passcode
for installs.. I needed a way to identify analog extensions (to make sure the right extension is in the right hotel room)..
one way was to build all the mailboxes as standard admins and they read back the extension when you dial voicemail..
I also built a mini asterisk machine that i carry around.. it reads the caller ID from where im calling, answers the line, reads back the extension number to me.. hangs up, waits 3 seconds then dials me back....
great so that way I can test in and outbound calling on every station I install..
the asterisk box is simply a soekris with an FXO card in it connected to a CLASS port on the mitel... works great..
I have even done it running asterisk virtually on my laptop and a linksys SPA-3102 connected to the mitel...
