This only works with Cloudlink chat enabled as NEPhoneGuy stated, with the "legacy" chat you cannot send or share files.

I ended up calling partner support, at first they agreed it was just CloudLink and turned it on.  Still didn't work, actually the change they made broke MiCollab chat altogether.  They then came back and indicated MiTeams is required.  I understand CloudLink is required for MiTeams as well, but do we know if the statement that MiTeams is required for these Chat features in MiCollab to work?  MiCollab and MiTeams are two different things.  Sadly with MiTeams, the product is not HIPAA compliant yet so that's not an option yet.

Hopefully an easy one...

Does the MiCollab 9 client support pasting images and/or sharing files?  I do not see the option available in the Chat client.  Does a feature need to be activated on the server to allow this?

Call Rerouting can handle DID and internal calls differently. Set up an always re-route and send DID calls to the new destination but don't reroute the internal calls.

Thanks, got it with this advise!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Forward external inbound calls only
« on: November 18, 2020, 04:51:52 PM »
Hello!

A temporary business need has presented itself where we have two external extensions that needs to forward only 'external inbound' calls.  4 digit internal calls to this number would not change.

example below:  assume 5555551234 (x1234) is extension that needs rule applied

...jane doe dials 4 digit internal 1234 -> no change x1234 rings normally
...baby doe calls from outside facility direct to operator, and is then forwarded to x1234 -> no change x1234 rings normally
...john doe calls from outside facility direct to 5555551234 -> call forwards

Anyone have any experience or guidance on making this work, i am not finding a solution??

Thanks in advance for feedback!

Jason

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MiCollab - Confernece Bridge Line
« on: October 01, 2020, 01:39:09 PM »
Just started playing around with conferencing features of our micollab system (very underutilized, basically only been using it for vm).  Pretty neat stuff here.  One thing i am having a hard time locating is where  to define/configure a Conference Bridge Line call in number.  Can someone point me where that is done?

7
Yes, we have one default caller ID number for external calls.  Calls to non owned numbers show the correct caller ID.  Its just internal 7/10 digit that is showing incorrectly.

8
First off, i realize users dont/shouldnt be using 7/10 digit dialing internally, but they are.  That is what it is.

Issue:
7/10 Digit dialing back into ourselves is showing an incorrect System Default Caller ID Number.  Can someone tell where to find this config item.

7/10 Digit dialing to external numbers shows correct System Default Caller ID Number.

Thoughts?

Ok so i did take a 5312 apart and wire up into the speaker and tested in a page group.  Two things

Currently the Paging port on the back of the controller sends two signals, one to activate the PA and one to broadcast on the PA.  Hence my need to use both the paging port and a paging group.

Secondly if i find a way to eliminate the need for the paging port, when i *5 to the paging port, the audio delay is less than 1 second.  If i take the paging port out of the question and make *5 the paging group code, the delay is 2 to 3 seconds.  It seems to be waiting for more digits to be dialed before timing out.

Thoughts on both?

Im not finding that this is possible, can anyone confirm?

11
How do we page using both the Loudspeaker port and a paging group together at the same time to receive the same page?

Jason.

There are ways to limit a calll to a specific number if you have enterprise licensing. If this is in regards to a site in Saginaw MI. I have tested a method and can let you know how to set this up.

John

Perfect, thanks John.

I am more shocked that there is still numeric paging service somewhere...  :)

Are these live users making the call? Meaning are they doing it by hand on a phone they use for normal calls as well, or is this a device making the call automatically? Is the paging terminal in house on extensions or are the calls made to an external service?

Yes, by phone in hand.  Numeric pagers still very common in the healthcare industry around here.

Anyone have ideas on this...

When performing a numeric page to American Messaging pagers, if the phone is not properly hung up the call sits indefinitely until the phone is used again.  We have had several occasions last few months of 1200+ minute calls due this.  Discussed with American Messaging with no resolve, they stat they have no way to end the call on their side.  I have duplicated the issue.

Outside of user education, wondering if there is anyway in the system to put call timers for force disconnect or something of the sort on a set of specific dial numbers?  Open to all ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Jason
