We have a client with a number of sites with teleworkers handsets connecting back to a 3300 with SIP trunks at their head office.

They are asking for a video conferencing solution between these sites and we are going to recommend the UC360s. However, they need to be able to video conference with customers with different video conferencing equipment such as Polycom. We've done some in-house testing with UC360s and they work great between each other over WAN or LAN, but we've had no luck making connection to 3rd party equipment.

We have one set up connected on the same LAN as the MBG/3300 and one over a separate WAN connected back to the MBG/3300 as a teleworker. Neither can make a call to something like a Polycom (Tried many of the Polycom test sites).

Please can you advise.

Full sync is working.

We're using IP Networking.

When we do STATE XNET ALL IP it says out of service

The network is transparent with no internal firewalls

We have 3 sites with 3300s. 2 sites have be clustered for some time and we have just added the 3rd site.

The 3rd site has clustered with the other 2 sites, but we are struggling to call across.

The first 2 sites are on the same software level, but the 3rd is on a slightly higher level. Do all sites need to be on the same level?

It's a direct connection between the 2 sites. At the end of each connection there is a Cisco router and both are transparent.

I'm not too sure why, but we have to use a MBG to connect to our SIP provider Gamma.

I'll try the TW tool tomorrow.

Thanks.

We have a 3300 at a site which has an MBG for connecting the SIP trunks. Everything is fine and all phones work well on this site.

They now want to put phones connected to this system at a remote site a few miles away. There is a strong 100/100 Mbps short haul data link between the two.

I have been there and tested a phone and all works fine on making internal calls, however there is one way conversation on external calls.

The called party can hear me but I cannot hear them. I cannot hear the ring signal either.

I suspect that it's an issue with the MBG not knowing the route back to the remote site, however the two guys in our office who are fully trained with the MBG seem to think not.

The link between the sites have no internal firewalls and the 3300 can ping the gateway and phone at the remote site. Hence the reason internal calls can be made.

Any ideas anyone?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Correct & secure remote access - How?
« on: February 07, 2015, 01:29:41 PM »
I've recently become a trained 3300 installer, but something that wasn't covered on the course was how to securely and correctly connect to a 3300 remotely.

Of the ones I have installed, the IT departments have been reluctant to give any remote access whatsoever. They will only allow connection through a local PC via LogMeIn. This is frustrating because either the PC is being used or is switched off.

I've asked customers for port forwarding, even just set up direct to our office's static IP address. Also I've asked for VPN connections, but I'm given the cold shoulder.

It's getting to a point where I'm suggesting to my boss that we install seperate DSL lines to give remote access.

Is there someway of remotely accessing a 3300 that I'm missing?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Broadcast Domains & VLANs
« on: January 27, 2014, 09:49:04 AM »
Hi,

We will soon be installing a CXi II with a company. They are having 30 phones.

We don't want to put all these phones on the same broadcast domain, but although I understand VLANs I have never really experimented.

Their IT guy is not interested in messing about with their network side, but we have to put it on their LAN to allow for internet access and user configuration.

So I guess what I'm asking is what's the best way to go about this and future projects?

Cheers,
Bob.
