Yes, I finally have this sorted out.  Created a System Speed Dial with that forwarding to external number, then set that # as the overflow in the Ring Group.  Then changed the Call Ringing Timer to 15 so call forwards after 5 unanswered rings.

Created the System Speed Dial (95196) then add that number in the overflow setting on the Ring Group.  Made a test call, but did not forward, after about 10 rings (from my cell) I get the Verizon message that my call could not be completed.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Ring Group to External Number
« on: September 20, 2018, 08:52:19 AM »
Morning,
I need to setup a ring group for 3 users, what I need to figure out is how to set up the ring group to dial an external number for overflow, and No Answer.  I'm currently using an unused DID for the Ring Group, added the members (easy).  Any help is much appreciated.

Hey All,
I need to block outbound dialing on our lobby phone (5304 IP).  Currently have a MCD 3300.  This phone is only to be used for calling the Front Desk to be let in to our suite, physical security barrier.  If ARS Routes need to be created, can someone walk me through that?  I'm pretty week when it comes to building ARS Routes.

Thanks in advance for the help.

On a 3300 MCD, where and how do I change the timing of rings before calls are forwarded to VM?  I scrolled through the Call Handling menu options, but didn't find anything.

I do have CF setup through the CF Profile yes.  So all i have to do is delete the MAC from the Users & Devices list under the user name/extension list?

« on: June 05, 2017, 11:07:42 AM »
I have a couple of physical 5320 IP phones that are currently registered to users.
These users are no longer with the company, however, need their extensions forwarded to other users for 60 days.
I need to reissue these phones (not extensions) for new hires.
Is there a way to disassociate the phone, but keep the extension forwarding so I can reconfigure the phone for a new user?

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MAS NuPoint and SMB1 Issues

Yes SFTP is an option; however, in a MS environment we would have to integrate 3rd party tools for it to work correctly.  Now FTPS would be better, but we get what we get.

Mitel Software Applications / MAS NuPoint and SMB1 Issues
« on: May 16, 2017, 10:51:03 PM »
Since the May 12th Ransomware attack, we have disabled SMB1 on our core server/network.  The downside to this is that the MAS Nupoint now fails when trying to back up to our storage (because it uses SMB1).  Has anybody else experienced this, and is there a known workaround for resolution?  Could this be as simple as updating the firmware, or is the MAS NuPoint not compatible with SMB2?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: SIP vs TDM

My apologies for the late reply on your topic, but you have a few options to consider.  One could be moving stand alone sites to a hosted VoIP platform, however the downside to this is that if you lose internet you lose voice.  If you choose to go with hardware, like an MCD, you'll also need to get additional hardware such as a SIParator (Ingate).  This acts as your MBG and can be configured for of your SIP needs, including codecs, etc. but like with anything else requires licensing.  Depending on how many concurrent calls you'll need to support, you'll need to make sure to have the proper dedicated bandwidth.  For Example, on a 10Mb connection you could handle up to 80 (80%, industry standard) concurrent calls.  This equates to purchase 80 SIP trunks, then dividing them up as Session & Usage accordingly.  You can also go with a cloud base platform, like Cloud PBX w/PSTN Calling if you wanted to integrate this with SFB.  With this option you move away from purchase desk style phones, but the options are they if say "older" employees want them.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / NuPoint Question
« on: December 05, 2016, 02:37:53 PM »
Is it possible to setup an extension that forwards to the users VM on a NuPoint server, so they can receive the "VM-to-Email" option, without having a physical phone?

Thanks Ralph.  Will running the repair interrupt any voice services?
