Hi Mitel experts!

Ive been given a new DDI range to use for one of our offices in Singapore. I was wondering how easy is it to set this up if we have enough user licenses on the mitel ?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated ?

I only administer the mitel and I would like to save on having to ask our vendors if I can do it myself.

Thanks,
Manny

Looks like its been taken away....

(From the help files)

Note: The Layer 2 (L2) Switch form is not applicable to MCD for Industry Standard Servers (ISS).

The Layer 2 (L2) Switch form is used to program global settings and to configure the Ethernet ports for the Layer 2 switch. This form is used for the CXi, CXi II, MXe, MXe Server and AX controllers.

When I expand LAN/WAN configuration I get 2 sub forms:-

System IP Properties
LAN Policy (QoS)
DHCP
 - more dhcp sub forms etc

I do remember this layer2 switch form you mention now - could it be its different versions...why do Mitel always change things - please confirm ?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Configuring G729 compression
« on: August 04, 2014, 07:24:25 AM »
We are transitioning to IP trunking over MPLS and moving away from our PSTNs.

We need to understanding if the mitels can be setup ideally on the LAN and WAN with regards to CAC and G711 / G729 respectively. I know one form is preferred over the other for LAN and WAN.

Does anyone know where to look or how to setup the CAC and check the mitels will convert to G729 for compression.

We have cisco switches and need to adhere to the cisco guidelines. I was told by Mitel an uncompressed call is 80k / 40k if compressed).

We will try to ask for more bandwidth for EF traffic from our MPLS providers but that is not cheap :) So dont tell us to throw more bandwidth - I just want a better understanding of what to do on the MITEL. Can CAC help us to limit concurrent calls being made etc ?

Thanks.

Thanks for that Ill let my desktop guys check it out. However, it might be that the conf unit toggle was not turned ON :). We had it displaying it as a feature shortcut on the BIG LCD screen before we went to vMCD 6.0 !!!

Ill let you know if it was that simple!!!!

Thanks,
Manny

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Conference module 5310IP

Since our upgrade from an ancient mitel platform to vMCD 6 we noticed one of our meeting room phones which has one of those conference modules does not work anymore.

The mitel "donut - like" speaker is connected and powered on but the speaker button to engage the donut just picks up the line and hangs up, it does not actually engage...

There used to be a conference app loaded on page 1 of the display.  This is no longer present and the conference unit cannot be used.  Not sure how long this has been missing.

5340 IP Phone
5310 IP module

Any ideas how to fix this ? We use to have this working before we upgraded to the new platform.

Thankyou so much good to know these commands.

I also stumbled on this which was helpful to view the last 24 hour status of the PLID. Our comms company at British Telecomms have said they replaced the card at the exchange so I guess I have to do this everytime an outage happens at the T1.

Thanks again.

I would also like to know if I have a faulty E1 card on an old LX controller.

We have had every weekend issues with external calls.

BT have said they spotted a card error at the exchange at their end and have replaced a card at their circuit end.

Now everything seems to be ok this monday morning but this MAJOR alarm still resides on the Mitel LX running MCD6. Is it that this just needs to be cleared ? When I do a show alarms it just confirm error with Card Universal E1

Can anyone Mitel gurus advise ? as my PBX supporters are useless! LOL
