Hey, thanks for putting me on the right track!

Rather than direct page I used the direct voice call feature code and it worked perfectly!  I don't even think I need a second line, I can just use the one ext.

Yay!  :) :) :)

Thanks Matthew,

I can see the direct page feature code and have used it but it's not giving hands free answer back. It's one way comms until they pick up the handset.

A good starting point though!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Dual Ext's on 5312 Handset
« on: October 30, 2014, 09:25:09 PM »
Hi Guys,

I am looking to see if the below is possible and if it is are there any guides.

Current hardware is Mitel 3300 CXII controller with 5312 handsets.

We are a NFP aged care provider looking to deploy these handsets to our residents. We would like to be able to set up the phones so they have 2 extensions.

1 normal extension for the resident to make and receive calls.
1 extension with on hook auto answer so when a resident presses their nursecall alert button a nurse can dial straight back into the room and be on speakerphone to find out what's happened.

Is something like this possible? (and is this the best way to do it?)

Can we get away with just 1 ext but have some code that forces auto answer?

Also, if the phone has two ext's does it need two licenses?

Just seeing if this is a viable option as a voice integrated nursecall system is extremely costly.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi Guys,

We are on 6.0 SP3

So can I change one of the extensions to the call group number and just put a button on the other phone with the first phones ext and ring enabled. I din't think of that!

I can then set up three buttons on the first phone:

Call fwd to Mobile 1
Call fwd to Mobile 2
Remove call fwd

Can you help me work out what the keys would look like for this. (I need to fill in the attached for the three keys)

Thanks in advance.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Call Forward Ring Group on Handset
« on: August 05, 2014, 08:52:24 PM »
Hi Guys,

Hopefully this is possible...

We have two desk phones as part of a ring group. The ring group number is the one that has been given out to the public to call in on for these phones.

At night the staff need to be able to call forward this ring group number to one of two mobile numbers (dependng who's on call). Is there a way to set up a couple of buttons on their phone to do this? I imagine they would need three buttons.

Call fwd to mobile 1
Call fwd to mobile 2
Remove call fwd

If they can't call forward the ring group is there another way to set it up? Maybe change one of their ext's to the call group ext and pair it to the other ext? They'd still need the tree buttons but the forwarding might be easier.

Thanks

Yep LS trunks.  BRI/PRI services are twice the price for us unfortunately which really adds up when you have 300 of them. This is only short term until we move all the controllers over to SIP but it is annoying as hell.

We have interconnect restriction on which has helped but it still locks up. Our old Samsung and LG systems never would.  :(

The reboot sounds like a good idea, if I schedule it for 2 or 3 am hopefully it won't effect too many people.

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / PSTN Line Busy Alert
« on: December 17, 2013, 10:07:35 PM »
I know this is a long shot but...

We're still having issues with PSTN lines not going back to idle after a call is finished. I don't think there's much more we can do with the line settings on the system but is there any way we can see or send an alert when a trunk is busy on one call for > 30mins or so?

We've got 15 Mitel systems and there doesn't seem to be any way to tell that a line is locked until we get a complaint from an external party.  :(  It is causing me no end of issues.

If there's no way to send an alert is there any way I can automate a script to interrogate the systems on their trunk status and return the result to a file?

I'd take just about any ideas you have about now.

Hi Guys,

I ran the test mention for one of the trunks with the below results. Do I need to run it for each trunk separately?

I've also added in the rest of the trunk config pages for you to take a look at.

Thanks again.

Hi Martyn,

Yup I have full system access. It's funny, all the techs I talk to say they haven't touched a PSTN in years, we've got hundreds of the bloody things!

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for the help.

We're having a few issues using the PSTN trunks with Mitel. Our support company want us to move from PSTN to ISDN or SIP to fix it but this will be a costly exercise for us as we get special charitable rates on PSTN lines.

The system isn't connected to another PBX and we've disabled the ability to do an outbound call transfer. Is there any other way the lines can get locked together?

Unrelated but another issue we are having is intermittent echo on the lines. We've had all of the lines tested by our carrier and they say they're clear, we've also tested the internal wiring which also seems ok.

Our old NEC system had neither of these problems and I'm starting to regret the switch.

Unfortunately I'm about 250 miles away from them.  :(

I can reboot it but I'd have to take the whole site down for 15 mins while it restarts. We're open 24 hours a day so there's never a great time to reboot the controller. I was hoping there was some way to force the line clear on the controller as it's definitely not on a call.

Thanks

Andy

Hi Guys,

Is there a command in the Mitel system to clear down an analogue line that is showing as busy?

I have two analogue trunks which are stuck and our support company is telling me to restart thet system which is something I would prefer not to do.
